Hey guys

Thinking of getting a new cpu cooler and was wondering what you all thought of the h100? What are temps like?

I currently use a akasa venom heat-sink with two akasa viper 120mm fans on push/pull.Temps are ok but I'm thinking of overclocking my i7 950 to around 4ghz.Also i just bought a new case (cm 690) and the venom is looking very ugly inside it at the moment.

Was thinking of buying a complete water-cooled kit but i don't trust myself to install everything correctly and so i would rather go with something more noob friendly.

Does anyone have a h100 inside a cm 690?

Thanks

Great cooler.

Silent on low, audible on mid and loud on high with stock fans. If noise concerns you switch out the stock corsair fans for gentle typhoons.

Agree with my colleague above.

The only downside I can see to it is the fan controller is on the pump unit itself so changing the fan speed requires you to remove a case side panel.

Why not go for a high end air cooler like the phanteks, K2, noctua or silver arrow. Brilliant performance without the noise and high costs.

I have the H100 inside a CM 690 II, and it fits fine at the top. The fans have to go inside the top plastic panel (outside the metal casing.)

Got it cooling an overclocked FX 8150, and it copes fine although it's very loud on med/high. I might replace the stock fans with something quieter, like Akasa Apaches.

Another H100 user here. Love it! people say the stock fans are loud but personally I don't think they are, I saw temps drop by 10c after installing mine

I have an h100 inside a corsair 600 case , its great, when running flat out the stock fans are a little noisy but it does a superb job of keeping the machine cool , ive got SLI'd gtx 580s inside the case as well as an i7 2600k overclocked so there is a lot of heat being generated but the h100 keeps the cpu from going over 58 degrees under full work.

It's awesome. I have one cooling a 2600k at 4.8Ghz. Temps are usually around 55c under full load.

It will beat a Noctua NH-D14, but is noisier.
