Hi there,

If you are looking for a FreeviewHD PC TV card/stick (DVB-T2), then unfortunately there isn't much choice at the moment.

The main options are the PCTV 290e, the Blackgold BGT3630. Also, I think TBS do some DVB-T2 cards.

If you think standard freeview will be sufficient then the compro ones on OCUK are good - though make sure the particular card you look at works properly with the version of windows you are using (eg. Windows 7).

That would do you. It's not going to recieve the HD channels (i dont even get HD freeview in my area yet) but you will get the SD freeview channels.

It's USB which makes life a lil easier for you when you want to fit it and obviously could easily be plugged into a laptop or another PC with minimal fuss.

Providing your sons machine has vista or win7 home premium it can be used with media centre rather than the supplied software......they even threw in a MCE remote as well :)
(That green button on the remote opens windows media centre)

That one hono linked to does come with a separate indoor aerial - so if you live in an area with really good freeview reception then you could make use of it.

However, if you look at the picture (and this review) the USB stick does have in input port for a standard coaxial TV aerial cable - so you can happily connect it to the main terrestrial aerial on the roof/in the attic.
