f2p by summer

Certainly not but I suspect a huge subs drop soon. All friends I knew that played the game got bored and quit it already, I am the one last reaming but really the only fun I have now is to do random PVP, some hutball games can really be fun.

It's the time again to catch up with SP games.

20 days of sub remaining for me.

Just cancelled my sub :( gutted tbh. Can't really find much of a community on my server guild wise even though it's pretty popular! and besides PVP there isnt much else to do. I'll resub in about a month to try again.

Every MMO these days drops a huge chunk after the first couple of months, what's really worrying is that they never learn to merge servers early, as they're too worried about "losing face" instead of keeping hold of the remaining players.

Indeed. Funny how people can't take negativity on the game without getting angry.

Dude, I don't even like this game, but, honestly, what you're pushing isn't negativity, its non-constructive purposefully provocatively articulated views on the game. You're just trolling the fans of the game, now, structure your arguments correctly and back them up, and they may not get angry and engage in discussion, but as it stands, you're just being inflammatory.

Think rationally man, F2P by summer? If RIFT didn't go F2P in a year, this game has no way of going F2P in 6 months, considering its got 2 fan bases behind it. Perhaps if you supported your arguments with more than, "Durr, its bad," you'd be taken seriously.

Negativity is me saying "I feel the usage of instancing is the game is too heavy for my tastes and sections the game world too much in the name of story." Your version (as I would predict it) of negativity is "They left out the MMO." Your version is blunt, stated provocatively, not reinforced and not constructive in any way.

Well said.

The vast majority of users on these forums, in whatever thread, don't usually mind criticism about a game, but only as long as it is constructive. Simply joining a thread of a game you don't like and saying things like it'll be f2p by summer doesn't further the discussion and the comment is just trolling as it in no way can be taken seriously and could mislead people reading the thread to find out about the game.

It won't go F2P, it is EA and LA afterall, plus, all you have to do is find a high populated server like ToFN and the game is enjoyable depending on your preferences for an MMO.

Star Trek has only just gone F2P after nearly 2 years being out. And even then it was not as popular on release as SWTOR was. I dont expect this to go F2P.

And if it did (big if), we're talking many many years here.

Well the March australasia launch is obviously an attempt to get more subs, but from what i understand theres a lot of negative sentiment about the late launch behind eu and the us and the reaction on the forums so meh. There is no doubt that f2p would be an admission of failure but EA dont want to be sitting on a money sink especially after a huge outlay on development. Its been proven that micro transactions can bring in a lot of cash. I personally think f2p would be a positive thing for SWTOR, there would be a lot more players experiencing the positive changes rather than empty servers. But anyway no f2p until we see what happens in australasia.

Im loving the game but thas probably due to playing with friends from other MMO's iv gained over the years. Busy doing lots of content and raids everyweek. Loving it that much i even bought 6 MONTH sub lol

I don’t think you can put it like that."An attempt to get more subs. Australasia was always on their radar and they were always going to launch in that area. It’s not like they have said “oh **** we losing subs were else can we launch to get numbers up” Bioware made it clear from the start that US & EU would launch and the rest of the world would come on board slowly.

I think they have done it really well. They know that a lot of people in that area are playing and now offering them free server transfers so they can play in their own time zone and with minimal latency issues.

I’m right up there with you on SWTOR going f2p. We all know that this business model is working and working well. Saying that, I’m quite happy to pay my £7 quid a month. It’s less than two pints worth.:p

TBH his comment wasn't trolling. He was just making a comment from his own opinion. Yet because you don't like it, you choose to belittle him.

All the people who posted stupid replies to him are taking on the persona of "little children".

Instead of people bashing, just talk about the game, like he originally did.

Thats the thing. They don't want to lose face but when you couple that with BW's towering arrogance it really does'nt bode well at all.

Its like WAR all over again - massive missed opportunity due to the people at the top not understanding their target audience properly :(

BW can't afford to lapse, with GW2 fast approaching. A F2P AAA MMO is what the genre needs.

He was jumped on because he's done this multiple times already, comes in with a one liner about the game going f2p, and never bothers to actually provide reasoned argument to back up this 'opinion'.

I personally think the game's a load of tosh, but juvenile attention seekers like him don't add anything to the thread.
