My girlfriends mum went in to get her tyres checked, they had a look around and said they're fine. I drove the car yesterday and noticed it wasn't tracking straight, looking at the tyres when I got out the OS wheel look to be bulging excessively so I checked the pressure, it was 10psi down on the recommended!

This was also true for the remaining 3 tyres.

I think this is absolutely shocking, if I hadn't driven the car then she would have been driving around on tyres with only 22psi in them, in an emergency this could have proved fatal

Absolute bunch of cowboys, the same cowboys that told me my oil filter on my S2000 only had to be hand tight

The only shocking thing here is that she doesn't bother to check her own tyre pressures then blames someone else for it. Surely all you didn't expect them to do a pressure check, they would have looked at tread depth.

have to say, my car had a bit of a problem recently and i had to use kwick fit as they were near by

they were brilliant !

I've used Kwik Fit for quite a bit of work on my E46, and they have been ok.

They replaced a tire that one of the fitters had cut when fitting it when I returned back to the centre, there and then.

If someone asked you to 'check my tyres' you'd check the pressures too right? I mean even with a visual inspection you could see the bottom of the tyre was bulging out.

Used Kwik Fit once too, my old car had problems with slow punctures. They spent a while looking round all 4 tyres, had it up on the ramps and correctly diagnosed it as alloy corrosion, and directed me to a reliable alloy refurb centre.

All for free too. Could have easily robbed me for needing new tyres...

Is the S2000 oil filter special or something?

I've only ever tightened oil filters by hand.

If she was able to check them herself, she would, it's a mobility car.

She went in to them, stating that the car doesn't feel right, they checked the tyres and didn't notice pressure was down.

Well that certainly sheds a different light on things, I Apologise.

Now that we know that a disabled person was asking for help/advice etc then I think it's Shocking & they should be reported.

It doesn't really matter though, if you go to a garage and ask for your tyres to be checked, you expect them to do it.

I have never seen a oil filter that need to be torqued up.

Then you've never seen an S2000 one, it says on the side of the can.

Try turning it 7/8's by hand after gasket contact, it's impossible unless you're he-man.
