Video Game Raging = Personal Experiences

Hardest i ever raged was streetfighter 2 on snes, there was this crazy rumour that if you completed the game on max difficulty without taking any damage you would unlock the 4bosses making em playable as in championship edition. I remember being on final boss when my mum walked into room with a drink for me, blocking out the tv!!

My rage was inevitable, i threw my joypad at the tv earning me a 1month ban from video games...

It was the longest month of my life!

Playing wow on my main char a Mage in battlegrounds i hated Rogues with a passion sneaky gits i combated this hate / anger by leveling a rouge and getting my own back if you cant beat em join em :D

Losing

For whatever reasons it is ultimately because I have lost that brings out annoyance :p
But then if you are competitive then it isn't really something limited to computer games :p

I get this as well. Nothing will make me annoyed at a game faster then losing.

Has anyone mentioned singleplayer games that confuse luck and difficulty?

Prime one for me was CoD:WAW. I loved the campaign mode on that (I always say I don't like the Treyarch CoDs and it's true since I see them as MP games mainly, but the campaign co-op was amazing on WAW) but when you ramped up the difficulty it seemed to confuse being harder with getting more cooked nades landing right next to you.

One bit in particular always used to get me where 2 nades would land next to me, I'd run to other cover only to have a cooked nade kill me before it'd even landed. That makes it impossible since I'm instantly dead and needs luck, there's nothing to do with skill there.

i find FPS (MP) games make me rage a helluva lot more than any other kind.

BF3 - annoying bugs, absolute ****ers who seem to shoot through stuff to hit me, hackers etc.

L4D2 - confogl plebs (played a game earlier where i was on the same team as the admin; he kept changing LERP rate [affects hitboxes] to give us an advantage)

never have i felt more chilled than playing supcom:fa :p

The last few years of PES, Be a Legend.

I'm not an angry guy but, my god, when your team-mates AI does something INCREDIBLY stupid for the umpteenth time, resulting in yet another conceded goal, makes my blood boil. Especially when they've already got a half-way decent opposition AI that can fully capitalise on the stupid mistakes.

And the ridiculous thing is, that the premise of controlling just one player and developing them is so addicting, i can't stop playing :(

Edit: So yeah, i think 'lack of control' (probably leading to losing) is the main thing setting me off.

Talking of Be a Legend, do you always get subbed after about 70 minutes? Even if you have scored a hattrick? Used to make me sooooo angry

Yeah, I think whacking up Stamina helps a little, but you need to sprint a lot to have any chance of getting a decent rating (another thing that seemed almost random that could really infuriate!)

Haven't tried this year's version just to save my sanity.

Pretty much any FPS played online flicks my rage switch.

CS, BF3, DoD, COD, TF2.

Plenty of rage has been thrown on all those tbh.

Old school platform games used to get me raging as well. Castlevania on the original Gameboy was a prime example.

Oh, and Call of Duty on veteran. Cheap, cheap difficulty.

how about the older generations of games?

i mean from consoles such as atari, dreamcast, sega megadrive, playstation 1, handheld consoles like the gameboy, etc.

does anyone rage over any games from those old consoles?
