ive read a lot about this, and it worries me. i know corsairs rma service is great for returns, but i dont know whether to get that or go for the antec truepower new 650w, or maybe the 750w because of said issues. i dont want to regret purchasing one, is my main concern.
thanks
ste
edit: ps, sorry for so many psu questions, but im just really worried ill regret purchasing one/or the other. i know the antec is apparantly quieter, has 4 pcie connectors,sli/xfire certified and is semi modular, whereas the tx series gets raging reviews and contrasting reviews about the noisy fan.

Isnt this the eighth thread you have about which PSU to buy?

as i said, sorry about the 8 threads, but i dont want to regret my purchase, ive read that these 2 are the best for said reasons.
if you dont want to help, dont, sorry if ive pished you off with the threads but im panicking as to which to buy out of the 2. and lol. im not too fussed about the free pnp right now haha, rigs almost complete now :P bar the odd led mod or case fan, i wont need anything yet xD
and before you say, yes, people have helped me, thats whats narrowed me down to these 2.

Theres bound to be issues with some items as the volumes sold cant all be 100% perfect and defect free, you will always here more people complain about a product than jump to the Internet to sign its praises.

Corsair/XFX/Antec, all Seasonic (except the TX650M which is CWT), get the cheapest I say.

I don't really know what I can say, as it sounds like you've already done your research. If you're looking for Corsair praise then you've got it... They make excellent PSU's.

But so do XFX and Antec, and others.

believe me im not looking for corsair praise, in fact, i was looking for the opposite, a large number of people have complained about the noisy fan in the psu, whereas ive seen no complaints in the antec, but then ive had people swear on their mother to go for the corsair. i would have opted for the xfx as it was the cheapest, but, ive heard their returns policy is awful.
i just wish i could go into panick buy mode and just buy one, but whenever i go to click buy, i just get second thoughts. :/

does anyone actually need the 4 pcie slots on the antec though? i would never run more than 2 cards anyway so
thanks again people. ste

What do you want to hear? That one has all the bells and whistles and doesn't have any issues? Every purchase generally has some kind of negative feedback about it somewhere so what you're looking for just isn't going to happen.

Just bloody buy one for heavens sake. I'm all for making a considered purchase but come on....

I have had a TX-750 for over 2 years now the 1st gen of it and not a single problem and no noises but I do keep my cases very clean here with air filters so not a spot of dust inside the case, fans, components or the PSU.

I have bought a TX750 PSU recently, and it's fine. Buy it. Besides, three year warranty? What more do you need... Also FYI, the TX750 comes with four PCI-E power adapters. You can unplug two of them if you don't need them.

Seriously, a PSU is a PSU. 80% of the components in them will be identical, just wired up slightly differently. If you get a faulty one, you return it. I've just spent weeks researching what parts to buy for my new CPU, I only buy the highest-rated stuff and what happens? The CPU and MOBO go back as potentially faulty parts. Doesn't matter how much research you do, things will break and things will be faulty. Just buy one.
