**The Official Nokia Lumia 800 Thread***

Is there anyway to separate the media volume from the phones volume? I put a Sky news video on and its ridiculously loud then forget to turn it back afterwards and risk missing a call because the volume is now too low.

It seems not. This is one thing that frustrates me a little too. This is due to the WP software however so is out of our control.

GOing to ask a dumb question here

I plugged my Lumia into my Windows 7 PC at home over the weekend, got all the usual gunff about installing new device and your device is now installed ready for use but i couldnt see it in the directory folders like my last Nokia X6.

Is this purely down to the fact i didnt have Nokia suite on my PC or am i missing something

Also anybody know of anybody who has connected this device to a XP machine ?

Been reading up the Nokia Lumia 610 recently, I really like the look of it as a direct replacment for my iPhone 2g.

If I like the Windows OS then I'd probably get the 810 in December (when my contract runs out).

Are you using Zune to access it?

Get the 710, Windows worked with Nokia so they scaled down some features to have it working on the 610, as far as I can tell the 710 is pretty damn cheap, and gives you at least all the features.

I would personally have the 710 over the 610 as well.

Although I don't quite understand why the 710 has physical buttons and all the others do not... Strange.

Im looking to get a Lumia 710 on Three (replacing iPhone 3GS).

All the reviews say that wifi tethering is available in a future update, however a chap at work who has an LG is sure that this was available on 7.5 last year. I spoke to Three (on the ONE plan) and they weren't sure.

Anyone got 710 or 800 can help please?

Their are no Tethering options on my 800 or any windows phone as far as I know. not sure if they plan on releasing tethering support though It has been a heavily suggested feature.

Support for tethering was added in the Mango update, but it was up to the phone manufacturers to release WiFi drivers that supported it.
I think most of the original generation WP7 phones have had updated modem drivers released (except the Dell Venue Pro as the WiFi chip it has does not support this mode). The problem is whether the network providers allowed the drivers to be pushed to the phone.

Just seen this for sale at £180 second hand somewhere.

Wasn't going to get this one, but that price is very tempting!

I need to use Zune to access the phone on XP

no i havnt then

But my problem is more my XP machine at work cant see the device cause i havnt got a driver for it ?

Internet Sharing (Tethering) has been on my HTC Mozart since the update that followed Mango, works a treat too...
