PSU Issues? Overheating? Hmm....

Nah no members market for me.. 1000 posts? Grrr.. I almost had 250!

Would be nice to know why it changed  I was looking forward to using it and selling off my old gear. It's a shame someone here can't have it.

Thinking about getting one of these

If I can find the extra cash :) Need something a bit smaller than my 40" tv for Photoshop and Illustrator. Higher res would be nice for gaming too.

Thats a pain :(

I use the Dell and so far pretty impressed with it, took some time to get the correct settings but def would not change it for anything else.

Just read the thread, well done for finding your problem, surely for the amount if them monitors, you can buy a nice TV? whats the difference? A TV would have more inputs so you can use it for other things too?

Just a thought ;)

Those monitors will have much nicer image quality than a similar priced TV

Back again. So after running the 800w PSU last night for a few hours the same thing started happening again

I put the Coolermaster PSU back in earlier today since it's not the PSU after all.. I say this like I'm mad but finding out it wasn't the PSU saved me £200 today

Earlier today, I removed my ram from slot 2 and 4. I also dropped the overclocking on my graphics cards and since then I've been able to play some BF3 :)

I'm going to try running the ram at a slightly higher voltage to see if it helps.

My GPU temps are below 50 and I've been monitoring VRAM usage in BF3. Everything looks good. I updated the driver about a week ago so it's possible it was messing with my OC settings somehow.

I'm going to try one at a time until I figure out what is causing the problem. I will be back hopefully :)

That fair enough, as with most pc's its a case of trial and error.

On your ram don't go to high, I have Kingston ram and 16gb and run @ 1.55v.

I have a 40" Sony TV which is great for gaming but I need something a bit smaller and sharper for working on. I can't use Illustrator on the TV it hurts my eyes :(

Don't really mind which inputs it has since it'll only be getting used as a monitor.

Yeah I'm thinking 1.55v would be a safe test. They are 1.5v modules but maybe they need the extra bump to stop the crash cycle thing.

Going to try both anyway :)

I'd say a monitor is much better for gaming personally, much sharper images. You have to sit much closer of course, but this is normal when using a PC :p

Yeah depending on what game I'm playing, both have their advantages and disadvantages. If I'm sitting on the sofa with the Xbox controller plugged in then the TV is better. I'd like something a bit smaller for working on and I'd prefer to sit at a desk for playing BF3. Skyrim on a 40" tv with the HD pack installed looks absolutely stunning and I can sit on the other side of the room to play :D

I put the other 8GB of my ram back in last night and upped the voltage from 1.5 to 1.55v. Played some BF3 without any problems :)

Going to try OCing my 480's again tonight and do a little more testing. Will be back soon :)

Ok so I'm back after a bit more testing. I have discovered the cause of the problem may be mismatched memory modules. 4GB x 4 in two matched pairs. System ran fine for months so a bit surprising really.. I may up the CPU/NB a little and see if I can get them working together happily :) May be a lost cause but I suppose I'm just as well to try..
