How do you meet new people?

Post-university this is considerably harder, the only people I've met recently are either work colleagues (meh) and friends of friends that don't live in the same City. I'm dying for a house party!

OcUK house party at Nitefly's!!

To the OP: Ask your mum ;)

I don't really know how anyone meets anyone in a gym that isn't merely a gym friend. All I do is talk about technique / injury / my massive guns, it's a bit gay to go 'hurrrr yeah, sweet reps you did it! uhh.... so... what you doing on Saturday?'

If only I could stop licking my lips when I say this.

So not true if other person is female :p

Heh. The gym idea was more to do with improving self-confidence and feeling better within himself.

I was in your situation a while back - and then decided that Id had enough of mooching about alone. So I went all out - every week I go to zumba, bodyfit, circuit, boxfit & karate classes...and its worked brilliantly. Made a bunch of new friends. Double win: you get fit doing it :D

to the op, a girl in my workplace moved to Manchester last year and had no friends except work colleagues, there's plenty of companies that arrange socials for people to meet go cinemas/bars etccc that she joined and she's found some pretty close friends... look into it

not really as such. I like computers lol
I used to play football, but far too old and lazy for that now. I don't drink, so pubs/clubs don't really appeal to me either.
I work at a small company, with people I can barely stand during work hours, let alone outside.
Maybe go to a LAN or something? What about picking a hobby at random and trying it out?

is it not a bit awkward turning up to something on your own though?
maybe its just the paranoia in me, but I imagine people normally go to things in atleast pairs so they no atleast 1 person there.

People always come up with things like clubs and stuff with randoms but that doesn't seem realistic to me for some reason, sure it can happen but im pretty sure most friends are made through education, work or from existing social circles like another persons group of friends, most are made because you have to be around them for some extended period of time over many weeks.

Since I got 3ds nintendo i got lots of new friends and attend 3ds meets. Best way to chat up girls is to fall on floor in library in front of them then they help you out.

But some best girls i 've ever had are hookers. The more you pay them the more friends they are with you. works 100% .
