Core @ Different Temps ?

Hey guys

Run an Antec 620 on my i5. While I am running any bench mark test, I notice that core 0 and usually core 3 are around 10c below cores 1 and 2!

This is my first time running intel, i'm pretty sure this shouldn't be happening, but does anyone have an idea why, or even better a fix :)..

With Intel there are generally deviations between individual core temperatures, I had them with my Q6600, however a 10 degrees difference is quite substantial IMO.

As I don't have an i5 I can't comment on what these are like with regards to core temps so best to see what current owners have found :)
 
Don't worry about it, upto 10 degrees is fine.

When running stress tests I always fine core 1 is by far the hottest, but another core is hotter in games.

I have never really paid attention to the differnce in temp between cores, but i am pretty sure 10 degrees at times is normal. If one core is always 10 degrees hotter than the other then that is a bit different.
 
Same here, most of my CPUs had various temps across the Cores, belongs your on the safe temp limits you be fine.

Yeah core 0 is always at least 9c or 10c below core 1 and 2, with core 3 being usually 6c -> 9c below!

Maybe my cooler needing reseated?
 
im seeing my temps fluctuate between the cores of up to 9c when playing crysis 2 maxed out i don't think it anything to worry about also seen a temp difference when using prime 95 on some of the cores

Yeah, the difference between 0 and 1 is always the biggest when stress testing. I really wouldn't worry about it.

You could reseat the cooler, but I think it is a waste of half an hour personally, unless you have some better TIM to add or something.
 
I have the same, upto 10c difference on my 2700k reseated my cooler and used better TIM but made no difference, strange thing is my hottest core when idle is my coolest when stress testing!
 
10c is a little higher than the normal "deviation" on this type of question but I wouldn't be alarmed at all.

I think it's due to the system keeping something in reserve to run Windows services etc while you're benching.

Using IC7 - Diamond tim just now, cant think of any better TIM to be honest :)

Ah well, best stop checking my core temps all the time then, has became a habit lately :(
 
Ive seen a difference of about 4 degrees between cores and thought it may be my old thermal paste so ive ordered some new stuff. Seems though that it may just be the CPU seeing as so many people are noticing the same difference. On my old core 2 the temps were pretty much even so i thought i must have a problem.
