Making electronic music

Do you mean Atmosphere/Omnisphere? The latter just had a mighty update not so long ago. WTB iPad.

I'll have to add that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Fruity Loops though...

It seems quite a big misconception that it's just a starter DAW and should only been used for the purposes of getting into making EDM.

These days there is absolutely nothing between FL Studio, Logic and Reason... I can cite you examples of professionally released tracks and established artists who use various different DAWs and you'll see that each is just as powerful as the other. (It's about the person behind the desk and what they can get out of the DAW rather than the other way around).

That said , Reason and Cubase from what I've seen seem a lot more difficult to get into as say FL Studio... FL Studio is great imo... Superb layout, mixer, pattern lists etc. it's just great. I don't see any reason to move onto another DAW, and the piano roll is second to none - Logic and Cubase users will all agree that there is no faster and better way of getting those ideas in your head jotted down on a piano roll. ;)

smr,

Is Anjunabeats your fave label or do you have anything out with them?

My favourite label, although Enhanced are a close second these days since Above and Beyond have gone more housey ...

I don't have anything on their label - that would be a complete dream come true!

That song was actually better than i thought it was guna be lol

Thanks, it's worth making a note that Souncloud absolutely destroys the mix ( sound quality ) ... sounds a lot lot better in reality, they use some nasty compression to save on file size which affects the quality a fair bit.

Like the song very much. However, it seems to be done in 16 bar sections with a chord change every 2 bars. I feel the final chord in the pattern is wrong. I was waiting for something else and felt a little let down when it didn't materialise. :(

Thanks, yeah a lot of trance is quite similar to that, very standard and basic structures... Some of the best music I've listened to has just 8 bar chord progressions. As for mine, they probably don't resolve properly which may have been fatigue at the time of writing them, I'm just tuned into A State of Trance Ep 550 live from London at the moment so not able to listen...
