the current track system is fine.
Yes for now, but what about in a few months ?
If tracks are built at random soley to suit each build then they are going to squiggle, if built to a plan they will be easier to integrate into other builds.

1. I don't see a lot of potential for grief at bedrock, I'd have liked to run it just below the lowest sea point but it's a bit late now.
2. True, walls are dull, but like mining I'm holding down a button and a key whilst watching a video, although I quite like the spookiness. Also I'm not ruining someone's landscape, what is visually OK to one is an anathema to another. It would be hard to ask someone not to build a railway just because I don't like seeing it.
3. Perhaps a simpler layout would be less problematic ? But would require more selfless construction. Either way subway systems are navigable even by Londoners :) it's only left a bit, right a bit.

I'm not sure what other public project is worth doing, someone suggested a tall tower, but to me a tower is a tower and I've very little artistic ability, most of mine end up looking like Birmingham on a rainy afternoon.
I'd love a canal system built with realistic looking viaducts but that is a huge project with probably zero interest, although I'd like to see the existing railways rebuilt in such a style (and hopefully straightened out...)
A recreation of the Mines of Moria would look great, but that's my next project anyway.

A recreation of LOTR would be an awsome Community Project.

The shire, mount Doom, minas trinith.

mordor.

you could actually make the whole map "IF' everyone agreed to it.

How about a more complex nether railway for this map? There'd be a lot less stuff in the way to worry about, and all you need are a few well placed portals.

At least then it would have some use rather than just being an empty space where glowstone used to be!

I don't understand the Nether thing, I'm not sure why they added it to Minecraft or the End thing, or enchanting picks either. Over complicating a simple concept I think.

Have a look on YouTube for the LoTR minecraft map. It's already been done, and it's massive and very impressive!!!

One word: Fun.

Not sure how adding an enchantment to pickaxes is over-complicating anything either

Full post on LinkTart forum.

One thing you may want to do in future if you want more attention is to post an update to the Minecraft group on LinkTart. This seems to be seen more by people.

I may move the forums back into the groups tbh..the current forum kind of sucks.
