If some one pays there house insurance at start of each month should it cover till end of the month? Mate had his house broke into and paid house insurance on 1st but they say it ran out on the 27th even tho there was 29days in the month :s

It runs out on the day the policy says it runs out one imagines.

Payment date will have little relevance, refer to the insurance certificate.

It runs out on the same day as purchased the following year.

If he pays on the 1st it will be 12 installments starting on the first full month.

If he pays every month without fail then it would be odd for them not to pay out, i'm guessing he missed a payment.

You need to renew it ever year, if you don't it expires and you're uninsured.

iirc most insures offer you 2 weeks grace to renew. Tell "him" to get on the phone in the morning and renew the policy. Then put in a claim the following day.

This is called fraud and why premiums are so high. While it's not right anyone has stuff stolen, you shouldn't expect everyone else to pay for your mistake
