How did this even get another series!

My thoughts exactly, its hardly "Ice Road Truckers" is it?

The really scary thing is series 4 is currently being filmed at our depots around the country!

I love this program ^_^. However. Urrr. Away at the bfs all weekend so I wont be watching it.

Click the link in my OP (unless of course you mean Not the 9o'clock news!! ) :D

Its tuesday night, and everything is not going well, Malcom the transport manager has just come off his break to find a disaster waiting for him in the transport office:

Malcom- "Steve, it says here on Daves manifest that we took 21 pallets into Brakes at Corby, is that right"

Steve- "Thats right Malcom"

Malcom- "But when we unloaded him, he's only bought 20 empties back"

Steve- "I'll make a note for when we go in tomorrow to bring 22 back as we were shorted today"

Malcom "Ok, we need to make sure do bring the right amount back each time as we dont want to get caught short in the warehouse"

Steve- "yeah, it looks like he's just miscounted"

Malcom- "ok"

With that disaster averted, Malcom can pat himself on the back at another job well done, but it isnt over, soon Paul from the warehouse rings up to tell him that he's noticed one of the shunters in the yard has got a flat tyre, Malcom is only 3 hours into an 8 hour shift.

Next week, Simon locks his keys in his cab, and Mike cant find any fuel log sheets and has to get the master sheet and tackle the challenge of operating the photocopier by himself as Kath from the office doesnt start till 9am.

Blue pallets belong to Chep and if they find you are missing some on an audit they fine you big time!

You still steering clear ?

or are you tempted to have you 5 minutes of fame ?

Oh **** that for a lark! :p:D

I quite literally have to duck out of the way of camera crews!

Been in a few "drive past" shots I assume - simply because I've driven past film crews filming, in the oddest of places.

When fans / spotters ask me if I've been on tv, I point out the filthy truck and the fact that I'm far too busy working.

As my sig says.... ;)

I've watched about 10 minutes of it thus far :o - I gave in to curiosity.....frankly, its embarassing to me and many of my fellow drivers! Its a subject of derision with many friends! :D

That said, Mark for example on the TV show is a sound lad "in reality" i.e. when not rabbiting from a script. It has its pro's (fame) from what he tells me, but many cons.

Stobart can't lose though, the profile they get and the reality behind the tv show is something you really have to see to believe, a true multi-modal logistics operation, massive scale, getting bigger and more diverse.

Interesting times ahead....

It's just so cringeworthy.

If it's one thing I liked about us Brits is that we didn't really do the whole dramatizing every event with all the BS suspense and music.

DARREN MUST HOLD ON OR HE WILL TIP OVER !!!11111ONE

Get real, we're not American.

The commentry style works perfectly in Ice Road Truckers. But it seems the people who made this show didnt realise that driving a big-rig across frozen lakes in Canada is a tad more interesting than driving a 44 tonner up the M1 with a load bound for Tesco.
