I'm not sure what this payment into my bank is and why it says the date was last year?

What could it be do you think?

I know the guys on here are good at figuring things out but I don't think anyone's that good....
Best bet would be not to touch it (incase it's a mistake and they look to take it back) until you've asked the bank about it

I'll leave it be for a while and see what happens to it. Maybe its a gift from the bank for me getting £29 interest on an ISA of which about £3 was removed for tax!

ISAs are tax free, that's the whole point of saving through them.

Unless you have done something specific to result in the tax exemption wrapping being remove, get your £3 back.
