Hi guys, I recently bought a 600T and having few issues with temps.
Coming from a Antec 902 were cable management is not great decided go for the 600T for the looks and cable management.
Problem is that im running 2 x gtx480 and idle temps rised from mid 40`s on the Antec to around 55-60 on the 600T.
Im using stock fans part from rear exhaust a zalman 120mm white one.
Removed all HDD cages from frontand using only 1 near the psu, so intake should be fine.
Problem i think is the 2 gtx480 are so close together on the rampage II extreme, and with the hdd cage in front of psu + case power connectors placing second card on the 3rd slot is out of question it doesnt fit , even if i move the hdd cage card still its the case connectors on the motherboard.
So really just come and ask for some advice as my cards are hitting stupid temps on bf3 , 3dmark11 etc around 90+.
I have a fan profile setup on evga precision to help cooling but they just run hot and loud, and before you say i know its a gtx480 sli setup thats how they are.

So yeah any ideas on helping temps down?

Thanks in advance

You had a 40degree idle on SLI 480s o.O Very impressive.

The logical way to improve temps would buy some aftermarket fans. Not really sure what's the best 200m atm, think the Coolermaster Sickleflows may be quite good, but I'd wait for some 600t people to comment, as I'm pretty sure only certain fans fit.

As a side point, the GTX 480 runs hot. Idle temps of around 60 and peak of 93 degrees aren't uncommon for my single card, nor anyone elses. They were known to run hot, so don't worry too much about it.

Mid 40`s on my antec but with 5 fans full speed and 1 of them on the side blowing into gpu`s.
Overall noise of case and gpu`s were vere loud , and bad cable management, hence me going to 600t thinking of more airflow.
I suppose i could install mesh panel and then option for 4 side fans, but that ruins the point of the 600t looks imho.
Anyways ill wait for gtx480 and 600t owners to reply and advice.

i've got the 600T white, its fine for me, i currently only have one 6950 plan to get a second. eventho i do plan to change the fans to spectre pro fans.

nice setup btw :)

Spectre Pro's are the current king of the 200/230mm market.

Fairly sure the stock corsair 200mm fans only push out around 90cfm at best, while the Spectre Pro 200mm is closer to 150cfm. An upgrade to a pair of these would certainly help.

Also are you using window or mesh on the side panel? If window try the mesh as afaik it will hold another 200mm fan. I put a Spectre Pro 230mm on the side of my 500R and it wiped nearly 10c from my 6950's over the CM Megaflow and around 15c from the stock fan.

If you've removed the hdd cages you can fit a 30mm thick 200mm like the spectre pro/coolermadter megaflow etc. the roof exhaust needs to stay a 20mm thick 200mm such as an old 200mm spectre.. Possibly a xigmatek (can''t remember).

Or you could put 2 x 120 as exhaust, but you'd get negative air pressure in the case with 2 good ones, would get dusty quite quickly.

Or use mesh panel.

Try those hideous antec spot cools? Or you could ghetto-rig fans to push air between the cards.

Aftermarket gpu coolers.

Watercooling.

I think that's all your options..

I am also interested in this as have been thinking about changing the stock 200mm fans on my 600T...
would like to know mainly about the noise of the spectre pro's and also how well they work with the 600T inbuilt fan controller

Looking forward to some pics and details :)

Right got the Spectre Pro 120mm delivered this morning.

Got to say build quality looks good and very silent too, LED not very bright , and comes with led connector for cases were you can turn led on/off.

Now on the case.

Still waiting on the front Spectre Pro 200mm , but I can go ahead and say they move a lot of air compared to stock corsair or my Zalman ZM-SF3.

Again will update this as soon I get the 200mm one.

looking good there, now time to vacuum that dust off of the CPU cooler.

What I did on my 600T to provide a bit more cooling for GPU was stick a 120mm fan on the hdd cage, to blow directly onto and either side of the GPU. I'll see if I can dick up and old pic from photobucket. My rig isn't exactly the same as this now but it gives the idea.
I'll be making some changes tomorrow, replacing the NZXT cables on the 580 with some Alchemy ones. and getting a Molex to 4x SATA power connectors, so then I can remove the native SATA power cables and a molex string, should take a decent chunk of cables out then.
I'm also considering getting one of those bitfenix 200mm fans to replace te Corsair one at the front. The corsair ones have higher airflow, But it's quite loud.

Edit: found one.

I actually bought a Corsair H100 but it had a fault so had to RMA it, so waiting on its replacement. Hence the 2 year old but trusty Akasa venom :D

Going into the 120mm fan u have , on my case would mean moving hdd rack and on my eyes it blocks air flow from the 200mm.

Still max temps i had was on bf3 @ maxed settings 92c on a 45min session.
Idle is about 57-62 were top card allways a couple of degrees higher as normal.

But like everyone is sayin its normal temps for gtx480 let alone a couple of them with inches apart. Let down is its fan profile ive setup that sounds like a harrier taking off @ that temps @ 80%.

Still let me play any game @ max settings no probs. it really is still a monster of a card.

PS- love the white sleeved cables <3

And the 200mm arrived!

And installed!

Conclusion:

Got to say looks and build quality overall far superior than the stock corsair ones!
But I regret to say temps actually increased 2-3 degrees both @ idle/load :(

Still I only got them installed for about 30 min ,i will keep a look in temps to see any improvements under load.

So my 50 cent is if you are looking into upgrade your 600T fans dont stock are just as good on performance.

Thanks

The Zalman fan you removed shifts the same amount of air as the 120mm you replaced it with albeit at slower speeds (but quieter at least).
Interesting I never looked at the Bitfenix fans (I got the same Zalman as you had) as they are too colourful for me but I like quiet (my age catching up with me lol).
