Ok so this has bothered me for a while now...

How have people routed the 8 pin CPU plug with their Haf X case?

First of all I dont have any extension cables yet, though my main question is if I did.. where do you route the cable through?

My Haf 932 had a hole cut out in the top left corner for this very reason. Ever since Ive had my Haf X I havent been able to work out where the CPU cable is supposed to route through.

There is a gap in the metal above the CPU (If you have a Haf X you'll know what I mean) though the plug itself will not physically fit through...

Anyone got any pics of theirs?

P.S. I can spell "routing" though I cant edit the title.. :)

When I had my Haf 932, I used to feed the 8 pin through the large square cooler mounting hole, then fit the motherboard, just enough room.

But, as the 8 pin splits into two 4 pins it should go through one of the two small square holes at the top.

Why can't you mount the psu at the top of the case,, cables would be long enough then?

From what I can tell looking at the HAF X motherboard tray there is a slot cutout above the CPU backplate for routing of the 8Pin EPS connector.

Yes thats the slot Im on about. However you cant fit the connector through there. The cable yes, but not the connector.

In which case route it through the CPU backplate cutout, under the back of the motherboard and then loop round into the socket.

Though I have seen a few builds from looking about that appear to show the 8pin EPS cable coming out of the other hole.

Round the back top left, there's a huge slot you can slide it through. That's what I use, could take a picture if you'd want me to.

Not sure how you're struggling to find it, it's massive lol!

Hmm, Ill have to try again. Admitidally I did unplug at the PSU end and try to route it backwards, though im sure the plug is the same size on both ends.

I didnt not "find it" - I just couldnt squeeze the bugger through lol.

Cheers for the pic :)

I just cable tie'd mine across the back of the case just above the motherboard and routed through the top wire hole and round the back to the PSU. I couldn't get it through either :)
