The diesel models share slightly more GM parts than you think...

here we go again , gm , part run down , The car is not a vectra, a few of the switch gear was moved over , the ecu turbo tech , suspension , interior , exterior panels are all saab derived and designed

no , the car cant even be taken to a gm dealer , as saab changed everything they could , only 1/3 of the parts are vectra.........

So it's not actually different from any other car. In fact, it's 1/3 of another car! :o

Before you start moaning, you were the one that said it's unlike any other car....

Saab owners will defend how "little" of their car is Vauxhall down to the ground.

Everyone else knows it's just a Vectra. Get over it :)

The engine is not a Saab engine, it's originally an Opel CDTi engine which was developed in conjunction with Fiat.

Just like the rest of the car is used in a lot of cars..

Vectras, Insignias - you might even find a few bits from a Cavalier in there somewhere.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, or that no one else does it. I am actually, quite a fan of Saabs.

You told us that it's a completely different car to the Vectra.

I think it's more similar than you know.

drive a vectra , then drive the 9-3 , it is a completely different car to drive and the seats are prob the best in the world , always have been .....

Exactly, he made out that the Saab was unique in ways that a BMW or Mercedes or Audi is not.

As far as I can see the only ways in which is unique in such a way is that it's made partly from bits of Vauxhall and it's front wheel drive.

Doesn't exactly sound like excellent and beneficial differences to me :p

Personally I can think of a few good reasons to buy a Saab but you seem not to have touched on any of them
