I've got a feeling i know what the problem is, but ill happily have someone confirm my thoughts.
The past couple of days since i added two new components, ive had the odd moment when the pc randomly cuts outs, and has to reboot but gets just on to the desktop and goes black, forcing another reboot.
At present this is a total list of whats inside my pc.
Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD3P Mobo
Gigabyte GTS 450 Stock overclocked graphics card
AMD2 Phenom X4 BE 3.4ghz
2x 2gb Corsair Dominator DDR2 Ram
3x HDD's
1x LG blueray player
NZXT fan controller/ temp monitor
4x 120mm Akasa Ultra quiet fans
2x 120mm Corsair fans on the CPU cooler
1x pair of blue cold cathodes
1x Evercool SB-F2 PCI slot system exhaust fan 60 CFM
All off a enermax 550watt PSU.
The PSU itself is 7 years old and has never failed me, but ive got a feeling its no longer big enough to support the hardware. Especially considering im looking at getting a SSD and some new RAM soon.
If i am correct with saying its the PSU, what wattage should i now go for? 750 or 850?
If you think it could be something else please feel free to mention as it all helps.
