Hey guys,

Need a blind for my room as its done, bar that.

Can anyone recommend anywhere? I've been pointed towards http://www.hillarys.co.uk - Wondering if anyone else could shed some light of anywhere they used, or if they found a local place? :)

Also, if it helps I'm looking for a natural oak coloured wooden venetian blind - whats the sort of ball park figure for supplying this?

Said window is 6ft by 5ft 1.

Many Tanks,
Jake

Most people I know who have wanted that sort of thing have used Hillarys although I do have a couple of wooden venetian blinds from Ikea which are ok and seem to be lasting well ...

Phate, can you not just buy a standard sized one from B&Q or Argos, etc.? Bet you'd save loads over getting a custom made one. Or do you need it to fit inside the window frame exactly? I tend to just hang mine over the outside and go one size over the width of the frame. Then you can put things on the windowsill.

I've used Hillary's throughout our house including our conservatory. I found them to be quite expensive but they are pretty decent. We didn't have much choice with our conservatory as the the people who installed it only had a small list of recommended fitters that wouldn't invalidate the warranty.

For standard windows/blinds, it may pay to shop around or buy off the shelf..

edit - As Robbie_G says :)

I'm spending a lot of time (and a fair whack of money) on getting this place right, I'd quite like a properly fitted blind unless it's 'lolmoney' tbh.

I got blinds for my living room windows (massive, can't remember exact measurements though) from Dunelm-Mill they were £60 each, and with two windows the same size that was a bit sickening lol but they look(ed) nice - before my little boy broke the ends off some of the slats :(

Thanks for the suggestions people, I'll do some digging at lunch on these sites :)

b&q, homebase, they will have loads to choose from in all different sizes and you can always cut them to size if you have none standard size windows.

Not sure about the others but Hillary's did our conservatory and one of the cats chewed through the chord that draws the vertical blinds. I phoned them for a price for a new chord and they sent someone the next day to replace it FOC. No complaints at all about them.
