Hey check me out im famous, That was annoying though, thank god dan had a bucket of water...

Odd little glitches at the moment, a creeper burning in lava continuously and frozen skeletons. I'm sure another one just walked through a wall to get to me.

Tunnel done though, darn thing terminated in the biggest lava cavern ever and I had to find a way across it. Settled on having a stream of water running over blocks and digging my way though bit by bit, the water would turn the lava at the sides into obsidian so it makes a sort of ravine.

Wish I'd known earlier of someone's suggestion of building it at y=20 to avoid it all in the first place :)

Been playing mc a lot with a friend who has a server from a well known server host in uk who do huge lan events. & pay £15 pm, the last 3 days he has been on to tech spport.

Huge chunks missing and lag is silly

Still not sure if its 1.2.3 though

So can anyone recommend a decent server hosting ?

This can be down to many many things.
RAM, CPU load, Plugins, Disk Speeds, Bandwith,

all you can do is rule out what may be the issues.
Like remove all mods and run vinalla MC that will let you know if it
is a mod that was added.

Lower the number of members that can access the server
that will do a few things like bandwith, ram and may be cpu load

As an admin to the server host your mate should be able to access the logs
and see what might be useing the most resorces.

Depending on amount of user's and space required you may find many good hoasts about.
I live in ireland so for me i only look at irish hoasting. One i recomened 100% is blacknight.
I know the CEO of the comapny and nearly half the staff too. But in general they give a great
service. But you will have to manage all the MC stuff yourself as they dont even know what it is yet :P

But their Cloud/Virtual pricing is faily good and have a 99.9% garabteed uptime for the servers.
They are all linux head and are very good a making things work too

Hah nice1 : P - yeh it all comes with experience ^^, i remember when i hadn't a clue about the general mechanics and stuff, was a nightmare >.<
I expect you have tons of resources now!

We have been on to tech support 4 days running and even logging on to mc is a joke takes a few tries to even connect and then text chat is laggy, and moving about and doing things next to each other is laggy time delay.

only 2 people are on the server mate and me. 600MB ram.
Have asked to be moved to another rack but they wont do that. nor will they offer a refund.

ill see about the stat's on server
and see about service else where.

what about the size of your world?
what version of MC did you say you where running?
is it bukkit or normal MC?

If the tech guys cant help then yeah jump ship but make sure you blog all over the place and make forum post in MC.net forum and the like. Hurt them
for beingcrap :D

There is only the Catacombs this weekend with the build contest running most of next week, the other events should hopefully be next weekend :D

I've been fairly busy this week and will be over the weekend as is all the admins so most of the events are next weekend with plenty of warning.

Happy days! I'm off on leave from end of next week so that works out brilliantly.
