KONY 2012 - Campaign to arrest Joseph Kony

Fair enough, although it shouldn't be that much of a shock regarding what % of money actually goes to the cause. Charities spend a lot on advertising in order to generate funds.

True, but it shouldn't be to that extent. $1 million on travel expenses?

These guys are a media company dressed up as a charity.

So people are mocking people who want to make a difference? Even if it is futile.

Classy.

Out of how many millions have watched do you think have watched more than the first 10secs before getting bored and forwarding it on facebook to look "cool" and "caring."

I'm not mocking those who care (though I would take a pop at the "charity" behind this all happily enough) but I doubt pretty much anyone on facebook gives a toss beyond giving them a chance to update their profile.

And that matters, how?

Because people aren't mocking those wanting to make a difference as you so boldly proclaimed (some may be but theres always a minority) we are instead mocking those who merely want to post up facebook as if they give a hoot, they don't, they just want to be part of the craze.

Keep up darling! ;)

Well, keep on judging.

What is more hilarious is the fact you guys feel superior to them because you're denouncing their "craze."

Even though it's about a man using children as soldiers, not some popgroup crap.

Nope, don't get it.

Edit - It wouldn't surprise me if it was just monetisation though to get the views on their YT vid.

Agree. Also a million+ to make a few very low budget films, Yes RIGHT...

They are making a bucket load behind the scenes, whilst no doubt traveling the world in business class / first class.

Not really. I just feel if you're going to do something then do it properly. This achieves nothing but lining the pockets of some "charity" and making people feel they've done something meaningful when they've done nothing...

Awareness means nothing?

Whilst the video is complete emotional garbage, it doesn't achieve "nothing."

And you're right, it could be a monetisation exercise, I haven't said otherwise.

I just don't feel that it's fair people are being mocked for joining a cause they feel is worthy of trying to stop.

Granted, there is a **** ton of misinformation and I won't declare to know all of it but the movie is wrong for one. :p
