Gameplay.co.uk merged with Gamestation

I didnt know this, I did a search but didnt find anything on the forum.
Old news? Apologies if it is.

Found this -

The retailer is also closing down the Gameplay.co.uk site, and will migrate all customers to Gamestation.co.uk from March 2012.

I'd never heard of game play.

What is the game/gamestation situation? Are they in financial trouble?

They are yes.

Game bought both Gameplay and Gamestation.

and yep Game are in trouble, they don't have the cash to buy new products at the moment.

They certainly are, theres a sale on today of 2nd hand PS3 games, all 2nd hand PS3 games are reduced.

Was quite shocked when I went over to gameplay website to check out my Mass Effect 3 order to find out it had been canceled (not even an email).

Shame really, been using gameplay for years, in the days before decent net connections and gaming magazines

gameplay I didn't mind using, not great website, not awful, just enough info and good service. Game never seemed very cheap, and gamestation is an embarrassement, its aimed at 7yr old console gamers, everything about it makes me angry so basically flat out refuse to use them now.

Oh well, I'll just have to order games from both more reliable and cheaper sources.... what a shame.

Sad to see Gameplay do as I used to buy all my N64 games of them through phone order! Will never forget when they sent me Jet Force Gemini and F-Zero X well before release date which didn't happen often back then!

Gameplay was my old old game buying website. I remember getting their quarterly (i think) catalogue through the post.

Used Gameplay quite often, their service was always fantastic for me and games never failed to turn up the day before release.

Same here, if I wanted a new release on release day Gameplay never let me down, always delivered before or on the day. Very sad to see them go.
