Street Fighter V.S. Tekken

We were mostly getting raped by Rolento.

I still haven't played enough to be sure yet. I need to find my 2 characters so that I can focus on them, but that might take a while.

Excluding scramble mode, MvC3 > SFxT > SF4 in terms of fun.

yes we were raped by rolento, rufus, and all the bs characters. we didnt spend that many time playing match, although i spend some time offline against my brother.

my impression is the game is pretty good offline but online its a bit laggy and the sound glitch does bother some people, so online is pretty bad at the moment. gameplay wise, this game is played more a lot aggressive than super turtle 4, jumpins have much lower risk than sf4 and some characters (especially on the tekken side) have very little answer for it, hence this is why rolento and rufus are so powerful.

fireballs are about as useful as they were in alpha and cvs2, you can kind throw in around but some characters can get around it without jumping easily, its more of the mid range poking tool than a true fireball trap. this also requires some decision making of when to tag, the red life regens very fast.

i think this is better than sf4, but i am not enjoying it much so far. all the characters i want to play have major problems beyond hard combos. they all have crap normals, crap range or speed and non-existent anti air options. i dont really want to play other characters but i am really to struggling to find my foot in the game, people seems to be able to jumpy jump and scrub out wins against me.

i am not having fun with it, but i am going to grind some hours in training mode to find some bs and long combos for my characters to counter the bs that is sf characters and jump. maybe beating up some scrubs will make me feel better after i put some serious work in.

yes so its mvc3> sfxt> sf4 for me too

Well don't you think the more time you put into the game should reward you? It wouldn't be fun if you could do everything after 3 days of having the game.. but I like this feedback it sounds pretty much exactly how I wanted (minus the bugs which will be patched, hopefully soon)..

Roll on tomorrow

Whats Asuka and Cammy like?, Most likely will use them two with lili on the side.

asuka is crap to me, she is quite fast but she normals are :(, they are fast but have no range, reminds me of rocket raccoon in umvc3. she has a anti air throw but that has no range as well, and she have absolutely no anti air options. she also has a duckable command throw that has huge amount of recovery.

she has some command normal that leads to easy ground bounce combos but they are slow. she also has typicial long and cool tekken combos.

cammy has her tk dive kick back but its so slow its almost useless. she wont get as many traps in sf4 neither because of the tech roll, but her frame traps and combos are still very strong.

in the first 4-6 months of mvc3, i picked low tier and didnt know what i was doing and i still had fun:)

its not about what i could do, it is just i dont like how the characters that i like have turned out.

for example, i really wanted to play steve and xiaoyu when they were released. but then i find out they both have no cross up (which is important because the game speed is like sf4) and their jumpin have small active frames and bad hit box (bad in a jump happy game). steve has no anti airs or decent pokes, heck he doesnt even have 6 attack buttons because his kick buttons are his dodge and weave move which doesnt actually dodge attacks that well.

xiaoyu kind of has an anti air move and semi decent pokes, but she has no safe special move and it is really hard to start a combo, because most tekken characters have no chainable normals.

in short steve feels like a dudley with crap jumpins and anti air, and i dont know what to make out of xiaoyu.

they both have hard combos but i can live with that, but sometime i just wish they were given a few more tool and a bit better. in every fighting game that i liked i have always started out picking crap characters (like iron man in mvc3, and honda in sf4), i wish i was better at choosing who i like the most.

Just had a few games in endless with some randoms. I won all the games but tbh I had no idea what I was doing really, there was no satisfaction with winning games and I wasn't finding it fun at all.

I went through all the tutorial earlier and there seems to be a lot of stuff you have to remember, there was one thing I couldn't do. After you block an attack you press towards + HP + HK, anyone else found this hard to do or just me?

I'll give it a few weeks before I make up my mind about this game...

edit: Online didn't seem to bad for me, not that laggy so that was a plus point.

That may be your problem. You are probably trying to remember/implement too much at once. Work on a couple of things first. This game is really fun so Im not sure why you arent enjoying it :( What combos have you got down with Ryu?

2 meters

cammy - jump hp, s-hp, s-hp, h canon spike, tag, cr-mp, qcf l, tag, s-hp, h canon spike

I really like lili but she seems really slow.

Not too sure how to play her at the moment

honda was crap compare to ryu, sagat, akuma, balrog and rufus in sf4! they do as much damage as honda and have more options.

cant believe chris g won big two with xiaoyu, might have to revalue-rate my play a bit, all he does is stand jab into the basic combo and it works.
