Alan Wake or Mass Effect 3? Which one first?

Well, i've been away from gaming the past few months due to other more pressing things.

I'm now ready to get my gaming hands dirty again so have decided to get my head stuck into one of these two games. The problem is I don't know which one to go for. I have no need to buy them both at the same time.

Based on your experiences (so far) which one do you recommend I get first?

If you want a fairly linear game with excellent atmosphere and simple but polished gameplay go for Alan Wake.

If you want identical gameplay to Mass Effect 2 with a different story (with an atrocious ending) for an extortionate price, then get Mass Effect 3.
 
Alan wake for now.. and by the time you finish it ME3 shud get a bit cheaper (fingers crossed )

Having played the first 2 just means ME3 is on the cards because jumping into the trilogy with the last game would be a bit daft. It is certainly not a reason to get it because right now I think you'd be a bit disappointed.
 
Mass Effect 3 is a brilliant sequel to Alan Wake, it continues to be a superb sci fi excursion and a hardcore sci fi rpg gamers wet dream.

I didn't like the Mako in Alan Wake I thought it should have handled better, but in Mass Effect 3 the Mako is awesome.

All the planet scanning in Alan Wake was dull I thought, but they really made a fun minigame out of it in Mass Effect 3.

In short, you should play Mass Alan Wake Effect 4.

Anyway I'd probably play Alan Wake first as you can complete it in a day and then move on to ME3 which should be a lot longer.

I just didn't get the correlation between the two games and why it mattered which was played first.

Unless Mass Effect 3 is a sequel to Alan Wake, I see no clear reason why one should be played before the other.

Should I play Farmville or World of Warcraft?

I was asking for an opinion not an ANALysis.

I can't justify the cost of both games at once so thought I would ask those who may have experience with both games for their opinion.

With regards to your question...I would say stick with Farmville. World of Warcraft might be a little too complicated for you to grasp.
 
Alan Wake, looks very nice, atmospheric/scary, gripping story, combat offers a reasonable challenge but can be annoying at first, it becomes more fun as you progress and find better guns/explosives. Very good port imo, no bugs that I've come across, very polished indeed.
