Hi guys.

I have just built myself a new system but i need some advice on a decent cpu cooler and a couple of case fans. Heres my setup so far:

Coolermaster CM690 II Lite with Coolermaster GX 650W PSU

Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz XMS3 Memory Kit CL9 1.5V unbuffered

Asus M5A78L-M LX AMD Socket AM3+ onboard VGA 8 Channel HD Audio mATX Motherboard

XFX HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 VGA DVI HDMI PCI-E Graphics Card

I wanted to get the AMD Phenom 960T for this setup too but place i shopped were out of stock. When i do eventually get it, i will be needing a decent cooler for it and would appreciate some suggestions.

Also, the case i bought comes with a front 140mm blue led fan and a rear 120mm fan but i would like to add to these as the case can hold up to 10. Some suggestions on decent fans too would be helpful.

TIA

Yes i do lol and know i couldve done better but am impatient. Did have a little advice but made my own choice.

Thanks for the suggestion for the cooler. Any ideas on case fans?

The Sickleflows are meant to be quite good so go for it. And another thumbs up for the CM 212+. What's great is that it allows you to install an extra fan which the Gelid doesn't.

Before you add any extra case fans why not check the temps once built and see if you need them?

Good point. Well I won't have it fully built for a couple of weeks yet as need to scrape the cash together to get the CPU I'm looking at, being the 960t as currently using a 555 BE phenom. Then again I have been considering the fx 4100 but don't want to be spending more than £100 on a cpu

Ok well i went for the 960t after all and was going to use a gelid tranquillo cooler for it. Only problem i have now is that after purchasing it, i realise that my case seems to be too small for it as it almost touches the side of the case and a little bit worried about it.

On point of that, im going to need a decent cooler that isnt so large (about the standard size of a stock cooler) but im clueless on decent ones.

Any thoughts please

The CM690 is big enough for any coolers and if the cooler isn't actually touching the side, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
