Discs / pads advice for Z4

Yeah,, lets all go and put some discs that Darrens drilled in the back room!

1. Do you track your car?
2. Do you suffer any brake fade?

If yes then up your pads to DS2500s and OEM discs or Pagid/Textar discs from ECP. Apparently ECB have gone downhill with their discs, I went through 2 sets of Blackdiamond grooved discs on my E46, both did around 25k each and I thought they were excellent!

If no then get Pagid or Textar discs from ECP.

IF you really want then you can get some from Cotswold with a discount.

If you really want Darren esque discs, then only get grooved ones with around 6 grooves on. These are much safer than drilled and get a set of OE pads.

IMO get the stock and braided hoses, much better setup and peal feel.

Kthxbai.

Darren esque? What are you on about?

I don't give a monkeys whether they have holes or grooves or whatever. I'm just looking for a decent value set of discs and pads for my Z4.

Any idea where I can get the pagid / textar discs from?

Eurocarparts will give you Pagid or Textar.

GSF will give Brembo discs with Bosch pads

Andrew Page will most likely be TRW or Bosch stuff.

Ok, cheers, will have a look.

Edit: Looks like I can get a full set of Pagid discs/pads for about £190 from Eurocarparts. Are these better than the Mtec I originally linked?

I need new discs/pads on my Z3 and am thinking of going all out and uprating them, but seeing as it's never even driven past a track, it's a complete waste of money?

It's always nice to have more stopping power but I guess it depends on how much spare cash you have. I've just had to cough up for road tax, service and new rear shocks so it's going to have to be standard discs and pads for me.

pepsilol has already answered you - if you just want good value, go for Pagid/Textar discs/pads from ECP. There will be a discount code advertised on the site somewhere. They are the OEM suppliers.

Ok, i've found the discount code now. Pagid Discs / pads for all four wheels for a grand total of £144! You just saved me nearly £50, cheers :D

Ah, that makes sense :)
I'm glad that wasn't a problem on the Z3. But then my subframe might no longer be attached to the rest of the car :p

Yeh, I got my terminology a little wrong :p Wasn't exactly cheap to replace them either. I'm going to be skint this month :(
