Tesco Petrol prices in you area pls help

what was the last thing you complained about?

Yesterday, I was buying a stand for a plant. It popped up £19.99 on the till. I pointed out that it was £14.99 on the sticker. The woman changed it.
I complained about my broadband service the other day, it was unusually slow and patchy one day. They gave me a free days service.
At a restaurant, I complained about the quality of the service. I was offered the wine for free.
At a pub recently, I complained because the G&T I had ordered was a gin and soda. They remade, same mistake. I complained. They tasted it and there was a problem with the mixer.
Complained to Amazon the other week about the long wait I had for delivery, they refunded the delivery charge and then when the book didn't arrive they sent out another one and gave me some credit.

I complain all the time, when something has gone wrong. You haven't got cause to complain, because Tesco haven't done anything wrong.

Unless you are on the Council planning committee, no, no you didn't.

The council planning commitee invited locals to the meeting and to meet and Qand A the developers and tesco senior managers.

If there was not enough support for the store then it would have been rejected,

Did you go? Even if you did, this doesn't mean you 'allowed' it to happen. You did not have the final say in the decision to accept the application.

If there was not enough support for the store then it would have been rejected,

And you think the support for store hinged entirely and solely on the expectation that they would undercut everyone elses petrol prices?

Are you actually posting this stuff? I mean.. really?

I doubt they would reject it just because the locals didn't support it. That would end up costing the council in legal fees after Tesco appeal and likely win.

When I paid for next day delivery with Yodel and it didn't turn up next day. This was around 3/4 weeks ago.

Wow, that proved a lot.

See I post stuff all the time and pay delivery on items... and just couldn't be bothered with wasting my time on such a trivial matter.

what was it 6 quid or something?

It turned up in the end?

It wasn't just the locals. The planning was delayed due to snakes being found on the site.

Tesco had to promise to build a nature reserve move the snakes or the plans would be shunned

I was working :(

you didn't quote this bit

They mentioned competitive pricing IIRC my neighbour went

Having the same price as Total is not competitive is it?

Its the same isn't it?

In the end yeah, but it wasn't about how much it cost - it was the fact that I made arrangements to be there to actually receive the delivery.

Gotta admit, you're acting like a complete prize ****head. The reason I'm saying this is because I'm sure you haven't always been this way.

You don't know what "competitive" means by the way. It means in league with the competition, as in, competing with them. Being the same price is competing. It's like you're missing half your brain recently or something.

OF COURSE IT'S COMPETITIVE. It competes with the other retailers.

ARE YOU JUST TRYING TO WIND US UP?!

Did Clarkson line you up outside your house and shoot you in front of your family thus explaining the missing of your brain?

I was working :(

So you didn't 'allow' them to do anything.

Being competitive isn't purely about price. Offering a full range of fuels (For example Tesco offer 99RON Unleaded, Total do not), a convenient shop, etc etc are all parts of a competitive filling station offering. Price is just one part of the mix.

Offering an increased product range and more facilities without being any more expensive could easily be considered competitive.

This thread is hilarious, I've read all of it and still don't see any valid point made by Easyrider. If the petrol's the same price, and closer to you surely they're providing a competitive service.

Being competitive does not mean lower price. If you think it should be cheaper because they promised to be competitive then it is you that is clearly wrong. Intact I would be surprised if the council didn't insist they weren't allowed to undercut the competition

Just checked on petrolprices.com and it seems that the Total as from 11 march is 1.45.9 and the tesco has stayed at 1.44.9

Not ideal. But a step in the right direction.

Maybe my letter worked? Time to apply more heat!!!!!! :D
