Recently, the 2 family cats, Pluto 24 and his mum Chukey 27 were put down together. Pluto was found to be riddled with cancer and Chuckey was simply too old to survive alone without Pluto due to never being seperated.

Pluto was my cat, I miss him ever so much, more than anything I have ever missed, he was born 2 weeks after me thus, always been my cat and always loved me the most hehe.

I would supply pictures but to be brutally honest, each time I look at a picture of the little buggers I bubble up, starting to now haha. I am at work so must resist.

Anyway, I have decided that once I move in with my current gf, I would like to get a kitten, possible 2, maybe brothers, or sisters.

However, having never done something like this before, where do I start?

Thanks

Go to a cat home, and get them from there. I'm quite against the buying of dogs and cats for a certain pedigree when there are so many good dogs available that are needing to be rehomed.
When my family got our cat, which now lives with me, we approached the Cats Protection League and they put us in touch with a lady who needed to give up the cat due to her health problems. Nice cat, and the lady knew all about him.

Find a local animal rescue centre and see if they have any you can adopt. We had 3 cats, 1 died recently and I really miss him too, even his stinky breath at 6AM in the morning trying to wake me by licking my face. All 3 of ours decided to move into our house rather than us going out and finding them.

Thanks for the advice guys, I will give the vet a call this morning.

I would have no problems getting a cat(s) that needed to be re homed, but would much prefer kittens.

The place we had our 16 week old kitten from, they had some as young as 5 or 6 weeks that they were hand rearing until they were ready (around 7 or 8 weeks) to be rehomed.

When you get a cat from cat action trust, it will already have it's first jabs, they pay for the second lot and for them to be spayed/neutered.

They ask that you leave a donation for getting the cat, you don't have to

Not got a local feline factory where you are? You can normally pick up their seconds or mis-shapes round the back after they shut up shop on a Friday evening.

Also, 24 and 27? That is ****ING good going man. What did you feed those things?!

We got both our cats from Cat's Protection. Jade was 18 months when we got her and two years later we got Abby who was only 12 weeks old. Cat's are usually spayed/neutered already but kittens you usually have to agree to have them done yourself.

God, wouldn't not give a donation, that is selfishness at it's finest lol.

No idea, they were stubborn buggers. The last diet they had was rather good, oddly, steamed vegtables mixed in with those whiskers pouches! They loved the stuff lol. Gave my cat Pluto terrible breathe though and his fave thing was licking my neck whilst I was mid game... Odd little bugger lol.

Whiskas?! My parents got told off by the vet for feeding out cats whiskas... they said it was "Like McDonalds for cats"! Now they have some more expensive and admittedly far more nutritious pouch thingys, and actual fish a few times a week too.

The long haired little gits get fed better than me :p

Bought from the vet? ;)

My beast will only eat Whiskas, if I try and give him anything else he looks at me like I'm a crazy person and moans until I go to the shop to get him his Whiskas.

Yep, same situation here, it's like katnip!

Ask SecretSpy. I'm pretty sure she got two recently. Through a shelter/home kind of thing I believe. I think she had to have a couple of checks done first, but figure you'll pass these if you already have had cats.

Also, Zefan, they probably deserve getting better food than you ;) :)

24 and 27 is amazing! Our oldest made it to 21 and they were all whiskas cats too ;)

There's something in it that mades them addicted to it, but at the same time every cat has been soft and lasted ages! (Tim our current cat is just the same).

People are always looking to give kittens away, have a look in the local paper or something? Once you get a cat and it has a litter its a little terrifying going from one to 36 (I think that was my parents final count) so there usually is a good supply around.
