Kittens - where to procure

We recently got one from the cats protection league.
7 year old black shorthair called Trevor.
It was for my gran whose surname is McDonald.

Slightly embarrassing when going to the vet!

Indeed. I was just covering that side to prevent the next question "How much do they expect you to pay?"

Is £50 a head too cheap? I am not fussed, but always get nervous giving money that is not asked for incase I am giving too little, so please, don't take the question the wrong way.

Thanks

It seems I did wrong by going "Ohh, that house is selling kittens yay" Then walking home with my new best friend!

Jcb33.

I got our kitten from gumtree, We found someone selling kittens 30 minutes away from our house so drove down and came back with an impossibly cute kitten

About par for the course I'd say, Blue Cross ask for £50, whilst Cats Protection ask for £60.

Will be looking for a new cat(s) in April after the last of ours was put to sleep (age 19) last year. House seems so empty without them.

Cats protection is where we got ours from, great organisation IMO and much better to buy from them and support a good charity rather than a private seller.

Cats protection only ask for £45 or did when we got ours last year, not sure if it differs by area though as the above post claims £60?

+1 had two wonderful cats from there over the years.

I'd recommend getting an adult cat, rather than a kitten.

With an adult, you can get an idea of its personality and if you like it, whereas all kittens are pretty much impossibly cute and adorable, but can turn out to be rather 'poor' cats per se.

For our sins we have 3 cats, only 1 of which was from a kitten - but they all have markedly different personalities, the 3rd of which we got because the other 2 aren't "hug" cats, they don't really like being held or fussed over, and treat the place like a hotel. (Walk in, get food, sleep, meow at door to be let out, repeat etc)

The long-haired tabby however, is possibly the floppiest, softest creature on earth. He didn't even bite or scratch when we had to shower him!

One of our cats is pregnant at the moment. She never leaves the garden so we've been putting off getting her spayed but needless to say a tom found his way to her... She is actually the daughter of our other cat and they get on so well that we have decided to let her have the litter, keep one and get rid of the rest. On our first litter, we had 4 kittens going for free with about 8 interested potential owners. Hope you get some soon, and those ages of your last cats are absolutely amazing, their lives are to be celebrated for sure!!

We got our three from Cats Protection at 9 weeks. £75 each, had their first jabs/worming and microchip included.

All kittens were from 2 strays that had come in preggers.

Now all three are 2 years old and still sit and cuddle each other. They are Spock (see my sig) Yoda and Ophelia. I didn't get a choice for the last one's name :(

got both of mine when i was in the UK from the RSPCA. They come medically checked, chipped, vaccinated and a voucher for the chop if they are too young. Well worth the little bit extra it costs.
