Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

I don't understand why people are moaning about this close quarters pack.

I know it's not strictly "Battlefield" but I think it looks awesome.

They have done very well with the gunplay in BF3, it feels very brutal and connected, and I'm really looking forward to this close quaters pack.

Don't get me wrong, the armoured warfare pack will also be awesome, as I enjoy the big vehicle battles, but sometimes I just fancy a quick brutal game on metro, it will be nice to have some more maps and weapons that I can get this same close quaters fix from without going to the (totally crap) MW series.

The point is there's no need for maps purely for close quarters, just cut off a section of a big map, there's no reason the map screenshot above can't just be a tiny section of a big map.

I don't think the CQB DLC is necessarily a bad thing, I just don't think it's what they should be focussing on - which is what they're implying by it being the first thing they're releasing!

It's not like they are removing all the big maps, or not creating an armoured/big map dlc to come after it.

Variation isn't a bad thing but like I said, there's no reason they couldn't make these maps be a part of a big map and just use that section for TDM.

But I think there is a reason.

Doing small, close quarters maps enables them to do a higher level of internal detail and destruction, which if it was just part of a larger map, you wouldn't have.

MW3 finally arrives on BF3 engine. Ill buy it ! as long as there are no 32 v 32 servers that would be frustrating

Everyone should have known where their priorities were from the begining, but it hasn't stopped me enjoying the game, and it hasn't stopped other players from enjoying the game either.

what peed me off was the whole bs marketing at the start that pc was this and that all the pc nerds lapped it up hard

made out it was that christ was returning when basically its just like a modern day cod.

i will buy the dlc i have no problem with that as i just play games and kill stuff

oh how my shotgun will punish thee

Oh DG, I am a massive cynic yet even I was lapping the marketing BS up.....Thats what i'm annoyed about!

That really is the only thing tho...I think this games great and can only get better. I'm really starting to enjoy infantry maps more than vehicle maps for moment so this is great timing for me.

I love infantry only maps, but i also like unlocking stuff, so i play both infantry and vehicle based maps.

I like playing infantry but not infantry only. This new CQ DLC means nothing to me, its just to small and I cant see how it can be anything other than a variation on TDM and I hate TDM. Similarly though the other DLC armoured kill offers me no hope either as I expect that DICE will just take the lazy route as usual and just release maps with absolutely no infantry aspect at all and totally focused on vehicles.

Inf only TDM = good times.

I hate moving across a map only for some faggot who thinks he is tom cruise or something swoop in and carpet bomb me from the air.. whats the point, its lame.

The game is never played like a battlefield anyway, Jets in real war situations wouldnt target 1 troop and go, ill waste a ton of ammo on killing him before flying off with an erection at my skills.

Planes should be duelling each other/going for the armor on the ground and so on.
