Nvidia GeForce 296.10 WHQL

Downloaded these earlier, much more stable in BF3, had one instance where it became unresponsive at the end of a round but so far no black screens or freezes/restarts. Much more like it.

Thanks for the heads up..installed and so far so good, card temps are not going up like the last ones.

Another 45% increase in Skyrim. Thats now a claimed 80%+ increase into driver releases

you cant add up percentages like that, it is a 45% improvement on the previous drivers FPS

That increase is since 285. so it's still just 45%

Otherwise the increase will be even greater than if you added both up (greater than your 80%).

If the figure on the last release was 40% and this one is 45%
140%*145%= 203%. i.e. that would be a 103% increase since R285 but that's not the case. They are just reiterating and comparing to 285 and to the previous 295 release

Installed these yesterday evening and they seem pretty good so far in the couple of games I tested. Skyrim no longer appears to suffer from extreme GPU usage fluctuations, meaning the game is a whole lot smoother (though I wouldn't say perfect). I also gained a couple of frames in Just Cause 2.

Will post back if I encounter any issues.

EDIT: I did notice after exiting JC2 that my custom desktop colour settings in the NVIDIA CP had reverted back to 'Other applications control colour settings', but I've heard (read) on a few other forums that this has been an issue for select games for quite a while?

Anyone had any issues with BF3 and these yet? The last ones caused me to have Black Screens when playing. So, hoping these were fixed.

So far it's been ok with me. Had a freeze at the end of a round but no black screens or anything. One thing I did notice was in Unigine it crashed with what was a previously stable overclock on the 470, I remember reading a similar thing happened with the previous ones as well so wanted to test that out. Didn't have much time yesterday so only tried once but will give it a go again today.

I had the same with my 470. It was stable in BF3 and unigine, but as soon as I changed the drivers, it became unstable in BF3

BF3 seems better for me, my brother spent a couple of hours on my machine last night and didn't report any problems. Had a few blasts of unigine this morning and again what were stable overclocks in my 470 (815/1630/1765) are now crashing it? BF3 on the otherhand seems a little smoother at the same settings. Will stick with these for the time being with BF3 but may go back to beta 290.53s. These also seem to run very slightly hotter for me. :(
