Of course they would, but if you can't get them on a PC it's a pretty irrelevant point. I was just offering a reason as to why some people may use a console instead.

If his story is real, his friend is obviously clueless and thick and will never understand any of this.

Top end TVs are still using 1080P, so any 2K+ priced gaming pc with a 1600P monitor and dual gfx setup will easily waste anything the console world has to offer for at least? what 5 years? 10?

Nice misquote there... I was about to point out that Trine 2 (or such like) works the other way, then realised that he'd already said that, you'd just failed at quoting...

I now regret coming into this thread though, because I'm going to be consumed by the stupid bickering...

PC demolishes xBox and PS3. XBox and PS3 are what 8800 equivalent GPUs? Show him comparisons between the GPU equivalent and a current gen PC GPU. Alternatively just beat him with his console until he takes it in...

Put it this way, I see very little need to upgrade my GPU until the next gen consoles come out... (admittedly I play racing games, and Skyrim, so the chances of a) a racing game coming out that pushes my graphics, and b) a new skyrim coming out are limited - let's exclude CARS and Mods xD)

Yep, I think the days when consoles achieve parity for a small time at least are now long gone. I'd be surprised if the next consoles do 1080p as standard and have a significant jump in visual quality. Most likely it will be one or the other, or a compromise.

I have it on PS3 and pc. PS3 first saw a mate playing it on pc thought i need some of those graphics.

I only have a 6850 and run medium settings but its a million times better than ps3

silky and smooth
 
get him to play GTAIV on a console, then show him GTAIV with ICenhancer on PC, his mind will be blown

Some of the console hatred in here seems a bit extreme... what exactly is wrong with consoles? The games look decent enough on a good TV (at a good distance) and there are some excellent games.

I think you've all just been baited by the OP into getting upset over something silly.

they are single handily ruining pc gaming. just look at BF3/crysis 2. the majority of the users are naive and dont have a clue and will always be taken for a mug by Microsoft, Sony etc..

jsut look at what their rumoured to be doing with new xbox. no sued games sales etc.

DLC is a creation of consoles aswell. parents being suckered into buying cod maps for 11 quid so their kids can play with their mates.

consoles should only be for casual gaming, like N64 was. playing split screen multilayer and sports games etc.

Also on the matter of console VS pc, I use my PS3 for games like Gran Turismo and other racing games, and to be fair they do look great on my 1080p TV.
