Hi all

I'm official back in the uk and depressed already! After 3 months floating around Asia living the dream life meeting amazing people it's a bit of a struggle getting back to day to day normal life!

Anyone thinking of travelling that's not sure about it - do it and do it alone! I really have had the time of my life over the past 3 months and will be doing again at the end of the year!

I still can't believe all the amazing people guys and girls I've
Met and travelled with! Some will be friends for life from now!

That is all really

And thanks to everyone who gave me
Advice before I left :)

Pictures here i think

Welcome back! :)

I may have to probe your brain at some point - I'm saving for travelling and I am completely useless at making any sort of decision :o

I did Thailand, laos, Vietnam and Cambodia!

No worries give me a shout! Everyone is asking me stuff now and I love it reminds me of all the great places

I went to East and southern Africa on my own in 99-00. It was excellent you meet more people on your own. I then took my wife there in 05-06. We really want to go around Asia then NZ next.

Good to know :)

I've done a couple small trips on my own (2 weeks china, 5 days Prague) but I'm putting together a 6 month trip starting Feb from Brighton to India overland and can't wait!

As the days go on, I'm more and more tempted to go travelling around South America this summer. I have no problem going at it alone, just wondering if it is the best use of my time and money.

Nitefly, weren't you looking at South America at one point? We could go and sort out Argentina!

My friend just got back from a few months in South America.

Gun held to head and camera stolen.
Camera 2 stolen.
Phone stolen, not even a good one.
Visa info stolen and bank account drained.
Drink spiked, woke up hours later beaten up, with everything stolen again.
Multiple food poisonings.
Almost killed in a traffic accident.

Oh but it was so great blah blah blah, won't shut up about it.

You sure he wasn't in Manchester for a few months.

Just got back from a 3 month trip.....South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Brilliant time with my girlfriend and 7 month old daughter.

Also finding it very hard to get motivated and get back into work. So I’ve gone and booked a week in France, snowboarding :D

Been already I'm afraid :p

Went to Bahia Blanca by accident (desperately looking for somewhere to sleep) not knowing it was home of their Navy. We were frowned at by just about everyone and one very drunk man came over and started showing all his falkland war scars before staring us out.

He finally said:

"No. No. No worry. NO WORRY. PEaaaas. Peeeas"
Aha, we thought.... "yeah we know, peace, peace :)"
He replied: "No. Peace.... offf!!!!!"

We were sharing a hostel with this man, ended up putting a bed against the door so he couldn't cut us up in our sleep :D

Generally though, they were very friendly. I could give lots of travel advice on Argentina :)

My cousin Chris is in Cambodia atm, been there over 2 years now making a documentary the lucky git. Been offered to go over loads of times but never seem to get round to it :(

I think ill have to wait til the kids are grown up before I get way for any length of time.

I know the feeling all to well, I spent 3 months in Brazil in 2006, couldn't readjust to life in the UK so in 2007 I moved to Rio de Janeiro,5 years alter I'm still here and still enjoying it, it's not an easy life but it sure is fun.

And welcome back to boredom...
