£100,000 Win on Scratch Card

100k would be life changing for me at 21, securing a mortgage is one of my biggest worries when I finally want my own place.
 
Life changing for me would be enough to pay off most, if not all of the theoretical mortgage I've taken out to buy a nice house with. The biggest finacial burden I can foresee me having (I'm 17 :p) will be paying off the mortgage/paying the rent, other utility bills seem like nothing compared to average mortgage payments.

lol the town I live in (Seaham) had the fastest growing house prices a few year back but housing is still relatively cheap. I could probably get a 3 bed for 90k albeit in a poor area/street of the town. In London 100k wouldn't get very far. That's why for living up here 100k would be life changing.
 
100k at age 16/17... Hmm that would have been messy. Lets hope he has a sensible parent or 2.

at my spending rate it would last me ages, i dont feel the need to buy stuff like others do, maybe because i was a bit spoiled as a kid
 
You have to be 18 to buy scratch cards, you should have took it off him and explained that as a senior official in a school it's your responsibility to make sure the law is uphelf

The age got raised to 18 a few years ago for all gambling, Scratch cards are still gambling,

*edit* after looking online it seems it is still 16, In the local Co-op here though there is a big 18 sign on the scratch card display unit and there is on the lottery machine at the asda here too

I was out with my mate on a saturday night a few weeks ago, had a right laugh, loads of beers. He woke up sunday morning to one of those emails from the lottery saying congrats you've won something. He logged in and after a phone call had confirmed he had got 5 numbers and the bonus ball, £71k, nice way to cure a hangover!
