Australian Grand Prix 2012, Albert Park Circuit - Race 1/20

So, Hamilton finished in top slot...just about.
The pundits have no idea who has the fastest car or who will get pole.
 
Not sure Brundle is right about Ferrari not struggling in Q1, they struggled in Q1 pretty often last year looking vastly better in practice than they did today.

The problem for Ferrari is how much faster can they possibly go if they can't keep the car on the track while 2 seconds slower already? Where will they pick up speed from while not flying off at every corner? Some improvement, sure, I think they've almost certainly been carrying more fuel as race pace is far more important, keeping it on the track for half the race with a heavy car is their priority. But I also don't think they were carrying huge amounts of fuel. If they were actually trying to do quali laps then they are flat out screwed.
 
Well, Ferrari have stated time and time again, that in the opening races of the season, they are going to lose ground. The question is: how soon can they begin to take advantage of what is a new and very complex car. Potentially, Ferrari may well have the fastest car on the track, but if it becomes the fastest by race 18, they championship will already be lost.

At this stage, it might be an idea for Ferrari to use the races to test the car, to speed up development of it. If this means putting experimental parts on it, during the races, then so be it.

Anyway, lets just wait and see what happens. In 3 hours we shall know just how quick all the cars are.

You think they haven't already tried using any new experimental parts?
 
Why do Georgie/Ted/Anthony have microphones to hold in the studio? There's no noise?

Not too sure about Georgies outfit either, although id rather that than a little dress and tottering pair of heels.
