Maingear EPIC T1000: Three Times Better Performance than the Best TIMs?

You can get similar stuff over here called Indigo Xtreme, i tried to sell mine unused on the members market a while ago but had no takers... think i will stick it back on infact.

No lapping is needed, you just have to let it hit a certain temp to get it to reflow.

As far as I can see it's the same instructions for both.

the cpu gets very hot, the chunk of metal melts, spreads over the cpu, filling in all voids, and then the heat can get into the heatsink so the heat drops dramatically, below the melting point of the TIM, and it sets like that

I get the idea of how it works I'm just not sure I'd like to get my CPU that hot even if it will lower temps after :p

Yeah I thought that, you basically have to allow your CPU to overheat to get it to set...? I'm sure it won't be fatal but I don't like the idea of doing that at all.

Aside from that it does look an interesting product though.

I agree, there's also the fact that you only get two chances to use this stuff.
