Super Southern Meet VI 31st March 2012

That and the fact the staff weren't too convinced they'd still be open following the exit of the owners/management...

I passed a couple of pubs on my way home, could always look into those?

Lets go to the posh one?

Edit: Ah nm.

Literally no burgers or anything like that on the (limited) menu. It was pretty much the top end of a typical pub menu, just without a steak/burger option.

Not too expensive really either, considering.

It was wall to wall posh old people in there though and all the staff were wearing waistcoats.

lol OK maybe not then

Paul, where have you tried so far because I might know a few places. I know it can be hard to find an informal place with a large enough car park.

There is a KFC and Dominos right next to each other and with a large pay car park opposite but it's in the town centre and bound to be busy on a Saturday.

There are 2 pubs potentially suitable nearby, in Kings Worthy, off the A33, about 5 minutes from the Holiday Inn.

Cart and Horses: very nice pub and tasty reasonably priced food (but bit small on the portion size), 2 for 1 offer at times, inside slightly upmarket, loads of covered outdoor tables. Some outside parking space front and back but I don't know exactly how many spaces. I could probably wander down there this week and count.

King Charles: never been there although been past it many times. Menu offers pricier than above but good quality food. Decent sized car park in the front and side but again I don't know how many cars it would fit. Again I could have a wander down there and count. Should be able to park on the local road at a stretch. Going by the gallery, they are used to having car meets there, which is a bonus.

Tried the Flowerpots @ Cheriton, who were happy to accomodate us but couldn't guarantee any sort of food which is a shame.

We then went to the Cricketers @ Alresford which served some good food, but was too posh for us lot.

What's wrong with the seven stars?

People moaned about the price of food relative to the quality, so thought we would have a change.

As much as Fox would like a KFC he will not be getting one at the meet!

Pubs quite close to Winchester are doable, would prefer somewhere someone has been, and knows can fit us in. But this would involve a full loop, as most enjoy the hoon to work up an appetite.

Haha , would be cool to meet 'The Know-ledge' in person. Also hopefully that weekend I should get my new car ;) , but I'm still going with my friends 335d

Why not bring your own car

I could ... But considering what other ppl are bring to the meet , I don't think I could keep up if I tried haha

My friend is coming down from London anyways so he said to use his car instead of mine , plus the gf will possibly use it as well.

So fox u making an appearance then ?!

It's not about that - it's not a race. It's about looking at cars, chatting, socialising etc. It's an OcUK motors meet - your car is better than your mates car simply because its yours and you are a member here. Anyone can turn up in some random car that doesnt belong to them.

Probably.
