Wargame: European Escalation - Cold War RTS

Just got this for £20 which was the best I could see it for. Can't wait to get stuck in. Heard good things but not had a chance to try it myself.

Yeah I love (but suck at) strategy games and I heard this was one of the best more hardcore catered ones, but £30 was a bit out of my range! :p
 
Really enjoyed this last night and can't wait to give it another crack tonight. Quick question though, In the skirmish mode against AI with the default NATO Deck I can only have a few command vehicles (3?) certainly not enough to hold all the control points. Are there any other ways to take the points other than moving a command vehicle into it?

The control points only give resources, you don't actually need them to win a game. Winning points are provided by enemy kills
 
Unlocking the armoured command vehicle should be one of the first unlocks - it makes a world of difference. This way you can control more sectors but you also have to defend more as leaving a command alone is just a good way to give your opponent a very easy 200 pts.
 
They said about 2 weeks at the start of March I think.... Been over that so I hope it is soon.

In other news, I am still crap at this :p

I decided to try a game on MP because I cba to to the 3rd mission (aka can't do it), but it was actually really fun.

People don't mind if you suck, as long as you don't use stupid spamming and don't rage quit and actually try to help! :p
 
Just picked this up for sub £20 from the same place mentioned in the shogun rise of the samurai thread, looks great! Can't wait to get it downloaded, just a quick q though, how big is the download? Originally steam said about 24gig but it only seems to be downloading 8

Was about 7,4gb I think
