well just after some advise if anyone has any experience with these, im trying to get my pc down from sounding like a wind turbine, the advise i was given was to plug the cpu fan into a constant power, so it goes on 'pwr1' on the mobo and then the radiator fan plugs into casefan1 on the mobo.

However the cpu fan is where all my pc noise comes from running on full, just wondering if i should switch it to a auto one?

Not sure if I've read this right. You want the pump power plugged into 'pwr1' so that it gets full power to run continuously, then you can plug the fan into cpu fan or similar so that is can adjust with temperature.

yeah that is correct, however ALL the noise comes from the pump fan, as it runs constant all the time, which is properly not needed as my temps never go past 38degs under gaming, however i was told that you wanna keep it at FULL all the time???

What do you mean by 'pump fan'?

The pump itself needs continuous full power, the fan on the radiator can be allowed to change with CPU temp. The pump itself should make very little noise

Well its the connector that comes from the pump that sounds super noisey. The radiator fan is almost silent

That doesnt seem right to me. I had an H50, not 60. Don't know if someone who's got one would be able to shed some light on it. Sounds like it could be broken? I dont think the pump is meant to make much noise.

I got the same problem on my h60, i heard it can be air bubbles trapped in the actual pump. im going to try disconnecting the pump and shaking it ill let you know if it helps

Hi, yes I was going to suggest taking it out and shaking it from ide to side gently, like a ship on waves...for a metaphor...

My H60 pump itself it near silent though, only time i really hear it is when I first turn the pc on there is a very slight water-gushing sound.
The Radiator fan is plugged into the CPU-FAN header, on my motherboard there are options in the BIOS "Health Monitor" I think to change the ration between CPu temp and fan speed, to adjust fan noise level.

But your pump connector MUST be either plugged into the PWR-FAN (best) header on your motherboard, OR into a spare molex plug via an adaptor such as this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-030-AK but this way you have no way of monitoring the pump via software.

i was a noob

Ok thanks, so now i have the pump connected to 'Power Fan1' which cannot be altered and runs at full whack.

i have now set the Fan to CPU Fan1 and set to target level 3 and auto, which should then raise the speed as it needs too when it hits 50degs :)

my bad chaps :( i should have checked my work before posting :(

I have my pump connected to CPU_FAN, should i have connected it to SYS_FAN ? the fans on the actual radiator are connected to a fan controller

Only if the CPU_FAN header is set to reduce speed when the temperature drops. Ideally you'd have your fans on this header as it often features PWM control and can significantly reduce system noise when the temperatures are low.

PWR_FAN is normally a solid 12v on many motherboards and should be considered as the location of your pump power.

yes you MUST connect your pump to a constant power that does not reduce or be controlled, i posted on corsair support forums.

So my pump fan runs on full @ 4000rpm and is silent and my fan plugs into cpufan1 and is set on 2 of 10 and to increase when need be

I tried connecting the Molex Adapter, and i even took it all out and shaked the pump whilst keeping it under the radiator and it still makes a grinding noise, is it a faulty h60 then?

That is correct, pump power is CPU fan connector on mobo. You don't want the pump running at high speeds as it will just froth up the coolant.

The H60 fans connect to the usual chassis fan connector that the original back exhaust fan would have been connected to. Or to any regulation device you may want.

no no no

that is incorrect! the pump must have a constant power! not variable

from corsair

The H60's pump should be connected to a constant power fan header, like Pwr1. The H60's fan should be connected to the CPU Fan header, so the fan's speed will be automatically controlled by your boards fan speed control.
