Anyone have any opinions?

Something I may consider for the future, always loved the styling. So just wondered if anyone here owns one and what they think of it?

had a 2005 model, heavily track modified however. Amazing handling car, and possibly the nicest n/a engine I've had the pleasure of driving.

The GT is identical to the Non-GT in all but the hard-top and the fixing kit.

If you have trouble finding a GT then it's pretty easy to fit the hard-top fixings to a Non-GT and buy a hard-top if you want it.

If it's an earlier model non-GT you would need to retrofit the heated screen wiring/switching as this was only introduced on Non-GTs with the glass rear window in newer models

One of the added bonuses of the GT other than the fittings being present and coming with a roof is that it sometimes can lower insurance compared to the non-GT Soft top only model.

As for insurance, I oddly found that as well.

It seems the GT's are a little bit more expensive but not too much to make me turn away from them. Hence I will be going for a GT version, not sure on year yet but I am thinking between the range of 2004-2006 if this is possible due to the F20C engine.

Again, me and cars don't get on in terms of understanding in depth things like this, but from the very little reading I have done, it seems that the GT within that year range seems to be a sweet spot and it is obvious in pricing as well.

Am I on the right track or talking ******** from reading tripe on the net? lol

I have a 2007 GT and I love it.
I will never tire of the noise from 6k to 9k RPM.

Fairly practical too as the fuel economy isn't bad at all out of VTEC.
I've done 1500 business miles in mine so far this month. No issues to report apart from arriving at my destinations deaf and with a big grin.

Stock stereo is RUBBISH. Easily fixed though with a decent headunit, amp, sub and components.
I've got a K&N FIPK intake on order and it's going down to DMS on 2nd April to have a Pro65R stainless cat-back system fitted. It should sound awesome after that.

One point though. You HAVE to drive it with the top down all the time. It's the LAW.

Absolutely stunning cars and actually on my shortlist of potential next (only second!) car.

Some really are starting to get cheap too. Insurance for me would still be kind of killer, but as the saying goes, you only live once...

And I live up to that as much as possible ;)

That video just made me fall in love with the Ducati grumble...

Beautiful isn't it! The 1098S sounds even deeper and louder! Truly is a noise of the thunder gods at full chat.

Going to miss it, but wont miss riding on the roads as much haha.

Right, time for more research!

Dont buy a GT because hard tops are totally, totally, totally, totally.... (34 minutes later)... totally lame.

Convertibles are awesome. The roof is not so much a roof, more an umbrella. If its raining put it up otherwise have it down. This is why a hardtop is crap. You cant just drop the roof totally randomly. You have to faff, so you wont bother. You'll spend half the year with a stupid hard top bolted to your car enjoying the disadvantages of a convertible without the advantages.

And you wont be able to get that great feeling that is driving a convertible when it's -2 outside.
