new car what to get

Hello
Im 19, looking for a new car. Im unsure on where to go.
The put it in respect i have a micra at the moment and would like something abit nippier. say a 1.6 ish no higher. Fun to drive, comfortable, got around a grand to play with. Been looking at focus's but maybe a little too big..?
Any suggestions.

I suggest that you state a budget.

But a Focus is often a good plan.

Ah sorry budget is quite low, around £1000, prefer lower.

Wait what i did state a budget in my first post. "got around a grand to play with"

Focus 1.6 is a good shout tbh mate. Not really a big car if you are concerned about size.

Not as expensive to insure as the usual Saxo/clio/corsa brigade.

The only car I can imagine would be cheaper would be a Micra but they are small and girly but almost indestructible.

a lot of people say its for old men in a midlife crisis :/.. but i do really like them

I wouldn't say it was a midlife crisis car lol.

At the end of the day, it is a family sized hatch back, owned by all age ranges.

I suspect it would be faster than the 1-1.2L small hatchbacks with stickers on them that your mates have.

Adequate would be the word I'd use, it's better than a 1.2 in a Saxo or whatever. At 70 MPH the engine is only doing 3000 RPM so it's nowhere near as tiring to drive as a smaller car.

Putting random points, I like butter, in sentences where they don't, the sky is big, really fit is pretty confusing!

Nobody would say a Focus 1.6 is for 'old men in a midlife crisis'. If you are having a midlife crisis you don't rush out and buy a small hatchback, you buy a sports car or a superbike or something.

Is the £1k to include insurance as well?

1.6 Focus seems like a nice place to be with the budget and your age. But for around that sort of money it could be a gamble as to how long before something goes wrong? Depends on the state of the car that you end up with I guess. Show it love and it will love you back
