sabbatical - 1 month paid leave - WWYD?

Hey peeps,

I've got a months sabbatical coming up and I'm totally unsure what to do with it, so I figured I'd ask the OCUK hive mind:

What would you do if you were given the change to have a full month off (has to be in one go) on full pay?

My current plans are loosly based around cycling around Cornwall in late summer, surfing and learning to kite surf. Maybe do something like a dry stone walling course... I kind of want to do something practical and not waist this great opportunity.

i would go further than that get a one direction round the world flight take a small bag and your pass port and wallet put it all on your credit card and worry bout paying when u get back after all your also getting paid to travel take the opprtunity while you can nothing will compare

ADDED BY ONE DIRECTION I MEAN as long as you keep goin east or west you can get tickets that allow say between 8 and 12 stoppovers so pick your route and go
 
interrailing (money pending.... although it can be not TOO expensive?)
kayaking trip (pending mates also having same time off....unlikely.)
 
May I ask how you were able to achieve a months paid sabbatical? :eek:

I would be tempted to do a mini UK tour :p

Cycle from Land's End to John o' Groats. That's what I'm doing in August anyway :)

I'll give it a go but it might take more than a month tbh... And yes its tempting to go further but i like the idea of seeing more of the uk.

might have to have a look actually, would be fun to rack up the air miles and see some random city's / countries :)

Its a perk you get after working with the company for 5 years, much better than a watch :)

EDIT: I see you replied. That is pretty good. Don't get anything at my place no matter how long you have been there.

There is a certain company I know of who buy you a Brietling watch after 3 years service...wouldn't mind that!
 
I would travel.

France - a week on a wine tasting holiday
Holland - a week sight seeing/herb sampling
A week learning to snowboard
A week camping/climbing in the highlands

Ace way to spend a month IMO
 
A month isn't long and will go quick so you are wise to plan now to make the most of it.

I would do something overseas personally and more along the lines a trip to India or Asia, road trip across America?

If you specified a budget it would be easier to suggest ideas.

That sounds pretty awesome tbh.

I like wine, I like 'erb, I can ski so snowboarding would be good!, Camping is cool...I guess. haha

Wish I had a month off :(
 
Go on a nice holiday somewhere, perhaps go around Australia, or a mini-tour through Asia...
