AFAIK.

I believe most dictionaries list Expresso as a variant spelling.

The driver behind is permitted to pit before the leading car, if the leading driver does not want to pit, that lap.

What we saw in Australia was Hamilton/McLaren making a very bad pit-call. Nothing else.

Question time:
If we start behind a safety car and then continue lapping behind the SC for about 10-15 laps, what is the point of starting the race, just to run behind the SC? Surely this is a waste of racing laps?

If those laps didn't count towards race distance then you could have problems with fueling.

Yeah. McLaren's rule isn't that the front driver pits first, its that the front driver has first say on what they want to do. They asked Hamilton, he didn't say he wanted to pit, then then asked Button, he did.
