Asus P9X79 Intel X79 (Socket 2011) DDR3 Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Genesis 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual/Quad Channel Kit X2 lots

thats what i just built but its only showing as 16gig total memory! in the bios, any ideas please thanks :)

Do you have a suitable version of Windows?

These are the upper RAM limits for the different editions of 64 bit Windows 7:

•Starter: 8GB
•Home Basic: 8GB
•Home Premium: 16GB
•Professional: 192GB
•Enterprise: 192GB
•Ultimate: 192GB

If you have Home Premium then that's you answer.

Edit:

Just noticed you memtioned in the BIOS so it's probably nothing to do with it.

hi i have Professional windows7 installed... but showing only 16gig allso in the bios is 16gig too...

as for the slots i got x4 in one side and x4 in the other side of the MB so all the slos are filled with memory ..

A bit long winded but try a single stick of RAM in each of the 8 slots in turn to check that they're all working.

Make a note of which slots work and which ones don't (assuming any don't).

im thinking are all 8 slots normal memory slots ? lol one set says DIGI+ VRM
And DIGI+ DRAM.... ?

I don't think those labels apply in the way you're reading them.

They're just labels "advertising" some of the motherboard features.

New DIGI+ Power Control

All-New Digital Power Control for both CPU and DRAM

ASUS X79 motherboards include New DIGI+ Power Control with three digital voltage controllers, including all-new DRAM controllers that offers ultra-precise memory tuning in addition to ultra-precise CPU voltage control. This evolution of innovative, industry-leading ASUS technology provides the best in class control for better efficiency, stability and performance.

I don't know if this is of any relevance:

If it's anything to do with the image I posted then only 1 DIMM will be recognised per channel.

4 channels = 4 DIMMs = 16GB

I've no idea if that's relevant or not.

Remove 1 DIMM from each channel by removing the DIMMs from the 1st and 3rd slots either side of the CPU.

If you've still got 16GB recognised then it may be something to do with what I posted.

hi i just tryed the x4 BLUE memory slots on the MB with memory ! and it comes back as 8GIG installed ! EH? unless some of this memory is not working right Really ODD!

It may be the case that the board may only start when certain slots are filled, my X58 board from Gigabyte did this.

Looking at the manual to run 4 dims you need to use the blue slots.

To test each stick individually you need to use DIMM slot D1.

OK I just tested ALL sticks and they are all fine works 100% !! BUT they only work in the First lot of memory slots on the main Motherboard.. thats the left bank of slots the right bank dont do anything when i put the x2 blue slots filed with memory.... Could this be a Motherboard Problem or Fail?

Try carefully reseating your CPU and lower it into the socket as vertically as possible, if pins are not making the right contact it could cause this. Otherwise it may be a faulty motherboard.

AFAIK Hyper DIMM is just what Asus are calling memory over the rated 1600mhz so that shouldn't apply, they're basically saying if you overclock memory beyond 1600mhz it may not work with 8 sticks of ram.

Maybe check Asus's qualified vendor list here.

There are certain ram modules from certain vendors that apparently only work in certain amounts. I've never taken any notice of QVLs before, but then I've never maxed out my memory configuration :D

Might be worth a glance at least.
