Guild Wars 2

Top end wow isn't really faceroll, if this is the optimal dps rotation is to blow everything as it comes off CD it is going to be arse. Really disappointed by this, also hate the knockeddown mechanic instead of dying.

I actually quite like the knockdown mechanic, nice change from you "dying" but not being dead.

I agree though that if it just becomes a non stop button smash fest it will be very poor, I was talking about this earlier in the thread though and I cannot see any other way they can implement the system they want without doing this because, lets be honest here, most MMO'ers wont work as a team, wont talk to each other and will just be in it for themselves so if world events were even remotely complex they would be verging on impossible to complete.

I love the idea of the game but pandering to the requirements of the current MMO generation will wreck a great game IMO. I hope to god they prove me wrong but I am approaching this game with a great degree of scepticisim and then hoping to be pleasently surprised rather than hyping it up and being let down.

At this point, I will take what "top" players say with a pinch of salt, if theres one thing that a decade and a half of MMO playing has taught me its that "top" players (or players who consider themselves "top" players) are amongst some of the whiniest, most elitest, most arrogant, narcissistic and self righteous bunch of people you can get in MMO-land.

As long as the PvP captures something of Daoc then I'll be happy, hopefully I will get the chance to get into beta and check out how things are for myself

I'm really curious about this one...
I loved the first for some things (visuals, fighting system) and hated it for others (instanced areas, lame quests).
I've played the first expansion but that was it.
I hope the second one will feel a bit more "alive" and look just as great.
I'll definitely give it a try!

Am I reading the above correctly...

There no healer and no tank class?

There are no set roles for the classes. Depending on what setup you use though you can aim to make your class slightly more tanky or more of a support class. All classes have at least 1 heal ability so people are meant to be able to take care of themselves to a certain extent.

I'm in NDA so don't want to say too much. But not enjoying the knockdown at all. Just doesn't feel right. The cutsecenes are poor too, no thought behind them.

You looked at Dominus again yet mate?

The games getting slaughtered on it's combat and performance by 'top' players from other mmos due to the whole use skills at right time is a load of ******** and you just use everything as soon as it comes off cool down.

That sounds bad.

Top end WoW is indeed anything but faceroll (in PvP anyway, PvE has never been hard unless people are a bit thick - most of them are :().

Going for world top 100 kills in 25man was actually required people to be fairly decent, wasn't face roll, Yogg +0 or LK HC wasn't exactly faceroll last expansion, certainly before the 20% buff in LK HC anyways.

I'd rather listen to them than people like Total Biscuit who are pretty awful to be honest, if the game is just spamming the abilities as soon as they come off cooldown it is trash, and pretty much most of the reddit community is reporting that, granted some going over board calling the entire game crap now but sounds like something could do with a change, although apparently the PvP balance is pretty decent for a game in beta.

EDIT: This NDA is completely over the top and retarded unless they have something to hide or want even more hype to build which isn't really a good thing at this point.

EDIT 2: From what I read the solo questing is a complete grind and mash every button possible, some who are being a bit less critical making it seem important when you use your skills but refer to it like when you're in a group. (Also I'm sure it has been done to death a million times but the lack of healers mechanic ****es me off hard and also can you even die in PvP?) Although the fact you get premade max levels like in the original guild wars is awesome since I have no intention of leveling everything but would love to do PvP on all.

No, that sort of stuff wasn't faceroll but generally it was only made hard by other people failing at things or people being unsure of mechanics.

There aren't many guilds that are free from these problems, when they are, things get killed pretty quickly as Paragon demonstrated.

^^This... OMG so this.. If there was a +1 button, I'd be clicking it right now.

Although I'd change the word people to a six letter word starting with 'P' and ending with 'ks'.

That person sounds like a bit of a fanboy to be honest. "OMG EVERYTHING IS AWESOME" :p

They do have a habit of winding up bad and/or casual players, but they're usually right.

I suppose you have a point, but at the end of the day certain fights even the ones nailing the mechanics can't get due to luck being a factor and also pretty much nailing your rotation flawlessly which to be fair to do for 15 minutes straight on some of those fights probably wasn't that easy.

I mean look at Yogg+0 when Ensidia claimed it wasn't doable and it took Stars to do it, or the luck involved on killing LK HC on was it 5% the first time by Paragon due to needed warlocks picked up and that sort of thing.

Outside the top 100-150 kills I'd say it becomes pretty simple due to buffs incoming or just everyone finally on the max gear.

Also PvP in WoW is a complete shambles :p, still disappointed MLG dropped it though.

I wouldn't call it a shambles. There are always going to be class/balance issues but ultimately there are top players in every RBG/Arena bracket playing every class. It has always been the same.

People are too fast to whine and too slow to adapt.

That one made some decent points about group content, or the hard group content probably not being faceroll, but everything else sounds like it doesn't matter what you press really it'll just work.

Also I'd rather 'top' players complaining it is easy, because they usually aren't really that good of a player which probably means the game is pretty damn easy and will be largely boring combat until max level unless doing dungeons.

Is RBG actually taken seriously? (I quit at end of wotlk)

Also when PvE skills are the same as PvP the balance is never going to be very good, it is decent for what it is but there is also a reason it isn't a big e-sport, although i thoroughly enjoyed it when it was at MLG.
