My question to all the techies here, I just bought this

Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator and Fan Socket LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA775

now I need to buy a motherboard + CPU (Intel)

What motherboard would you buy, I think I messed up when I bought the Noctua NH-D14, I didnt know they had 2 coolers i.e.

Noctua NH-D14-2011 Dual Radiator Cooler with PWM fans LGA2011

... do you think I can install the on the Noctua NH-D14 on the ASUS P9X79 PRO

I am getting exactly same cooler + asus p8z68 v + i 2500k ... will be blazing fast and good deal too...

+ Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit.

Anyone know if this will fit well in haf X case please? ta

You can't install the
Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator and Fan Socket LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA775
on the ASUS P9X79 PRO.

You want a Z68 board:

Which will work with the cooler you've bought.

What do you use your PC for? An i5 2500K and Z68 board is a popular choice and ideal for gaming

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £169.99
1 x Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-GEN3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £122.98
Total : £304.37 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Really for gaming, I'm not into overclocking or anything, but want a fast system that will last for a few years. Also has to be very quick.

WOW!! Total : £580.31

Thats amazing, I know I said I wasn't worried about Overclocking it, but you said it was easy, so that's kinda given me confidence in doing that too!!

Thankyou so much, and thankyou ALL for all your input!

No problem.

I assume that 1TB HDD you've got is SATA? And you've got a 64bit OS?

Guide for OCing on that motherboard here:

Some of that stuff is on offer until 9:00am tomorrow, then offers will change. So if you don't order before then, check back first and we'll see whats on offer :)
