petrol goes through 140p a litre

To the people living in the US. Would you guys have riots if fuel over there went up to U.K? Prices?

Over here we moan and nothing gets done, i'm guessing over there **** would hit the fan.

Some interesting facts for you about oil prices, exchange rates and petrol prices.

This time 12 months ago, a barrel of Brent crude was 5% more expensive than it is today. It's priced in dollars - this time 12 months ago though, Sterling was worth only 1.7% more than it is now against the dollar. Therefore, oil is no more expensive now than 12 months ago, adjusted for currency fluctuations.

Exactly 12 months ago, the average price across the UK of a litre of unleaded was 135.9p. Today, the average price is 141p a litre.

Interesting. I wonder where that extra 5p is going?

Perhaps the refining process has got more expensive, or the petrol stations overheads have increased. The joys of inflation.

How much has the government added in tax and duty since last year?

Seems it's about time I added that Delorean-style food processor to the back of the car - it's the only answer I tell you!

I'm so glad I stopped driving at 18! 6 years of not having to pay extortionate petrol prices!
