New BBC News mobile site

I really hope the selection process for mobiles and tablets will be better, the new front page of bbc has been designed with tablets and smartphones in mind and yet my phone browser always loads the mobile site by default.

I don't want the mobile site to load on my phone and so i bookmark the site with /?mobile and it loads the desktop site, but as soon as i touch the BBC logo to go back to the front page it loads the mobile site again. Therefore I have to muck around with my useragent which isn't user-friendly.

It's very clear and looks good on the GN and iPad 3 but I prefer to look at the non mobile pages.

Better than the old mobile front page. Still don't like the new main homepage though. I can't get rugby headlines on the front where I want them.

Sorry but... Do people still use mobile web pages on smartphones and Tablets?

Millions, but more importantly, we only offer ios and android apps new currently/ So we weren't really serving other phones the best experience. Now, no matter the phone, the user will get a good experience.

Of course. Perhaps not so much on tablets, but full sites are often awkward to use even on larger phones like the GS2, especially content-heavy sites that can result in a lot of scrolling around and longer loading times. As long as the mobile site offers proper functionality, there's no reason not to use it them.

That's the issue I have with mobile sites, lack of functionality is so irritating. Hopefully this new site will be different but I have no problems with the desktop site on my SG2.
