Cool, and we get them all free? I didn't realise that. I take back my comment then.

Can we put them all next to the free oil we get from Iraq now?

Oh, whats that? You mean... we currently pay $125 for a barrel of Iraqi oil compared with $20 before the invasion?

Oh :(
I don't recall saying that the government or the population would benefit from these actions, that's pretty obvious.

Look at all the building contracts & who has won the contracts for NEW drilling in Iraq (not existing).

Are you seriously saying it's a co-incidence that all of the places we have forces stationed just HAPPEN to be the most resource rich locations on the planet?.

Really?, are you that naive?

He's an idiot of the highest order. His appearance on 10 o'clock live last month confirmed everyones suspicions.

His argument for giving the Falklands back (and for not invading Iraq/Afghanistan) is not that "the people want it" or anything remotely democratic, but that being CLOSER to a territory makes you sovereign over it

The most outdated concept of political sovereignty in the known universe, completely invalidating any opinions of the people within the territory on the basis a big state is near it! His anti-war theme was the same on the basis that these states are sovereign so we have no right to invade! (which is just as stupid as thats the only way as state can really display its sovereignty in the first place)

The guy is a **** and should have been pushed off a bridge a long time ago as he just does not understand what he is shouting about! (after hearing him speak in public I think of him as a slightly more articulate Nick Griffin, shouty but stupid)

At least he's MP for Bradford, thats far away from me so I don't have to have any pre tense of having anything to do with him

I agree to an extent, that some of what he says is appalling, but when comparing to entities in which what they DO is appalling it's hardly comparable.

People seem to be unaware that the main motivation behind most anti western terrorists attacks is the blind support of Israel against the Palestinians.

Something which at least this unsavoury cretin has the guts to point out, I dislike much of what he says - but on this he is 100% correct.

Well you can have someone diplomatically make those points not just resort to constant rabble rousing all the time.

I do agree, he is an idiot at times - the Falklands issue is one great example.

He try's to champion the underdog to new levels - which isn't exactly the worst thing in the world (in our current climate) - I'd much prefer a more level headed & rational champion of the downtrodden, but he's not all bad.

I like him, his ideas may not suit everyone. But at least he speaks his mind and you get straight answers from him. Something almost all politicians lack.

Congratulations to the living legend himself George Galloway. The man speaks the truth and says exactly what is on his mind. Up most respect for George and am proud to have him represent my home town of Bradford.

cant stand galloway most of the time but he does throw out some funny things now and a again.

one funny thing is everyones calling galloway for chasing after the muslim vote but no ones noticed that labours candidate was a pakistani muslim and they still lost.

He lost because he cut me up in his talking car!!

Id like to put in a serious comment but really i dont have one, Galloway amuses me, seems to speak his mind and the truth, be it miss-guided at times, just have to see what he starts now...

Lol so true, the labour candidate was just thick TBH honest. Could barely get a sentence out. One thing that made me laugh was they were using a proper "drug dealer" type blue Subaru Impreza as a speaker car with the chaviest looking driver ever, baseball cap, gold chain and all. How in the hell do you expect people to vote for you with people like that representing you.

What ever you think of GG, it's victory by a huge margin and hard to ignore.

I know little about the "Respect" party. Anyone here know what policies proved so popular?

Why?

I don't like the guy at all but I have far FAR more respect for a guy who actually talks about his friendships with, dictators and generally bad people and doesn't pretend he never liked them or worked with them.

He's relatively speaking honest(not completely) but far more so than the average politician. The ENTIRE world of politics was happy with Saddam Hussein until they WANTED HIS OIL, then he was suddenly the worst person on earth, when he was killing people en masse in horrific ways no one cared, when the threat of oil and resources being cut off occured he's suddenly public enemy number 1, at least one or two politicians didn't pretend the years of support never happened.

I'd take a crapload of somewhat honest politicians than ones that simply lie about everything. Simple fact is all politicians, if they like it or not, have to deal with and be friendly with both exceptionally good leaders, and basically mass murderers, and treat them the same, that is THEIR GOD DAMNED JOB. China commits horrific attrocities, Tibet/Sudan situations are crazy, yet no one cares when our politicians proclaims them friends, has them around for tea and talks about profits and money. Same goes for many leaders around the world, its called diplomacy, and when people are being diplomatic they are often not themselves. When Saddam wasn't ordering the torture of civilians, he was probably fully capable of sitting in a room with politicians, offering some tea and biscuits and talking about a sports team like anyone else in the world.

The worst murderers in the history of the world often went quietly through life with most people not knowing they weren't nice people.

Our government and very much the american government has supported, trained, funded and established half of the groups of people we are now "fighting", but pretending we had nothing to do with it in the first place.

Like I said, GG might be a bit of a moron but he's not a complete liar, and I won't have a go at him for being friendly with people and not lying about it like other politicians.

I think a lot of the problem with modern day British politics is that the majority of politicians are just trying to fit the mould and saying what they think they should say.

Take Question Time for example, the same tired lines and accusations every week. I think politics should be about individual character of each politician. But the majority of them just throw out the same tired lines.

Love him or hate him, he sticks to his beliefs and doesn't try and win admiration of the majority populace. He just goes through his political career trying to get his point across. The same can be said for a few other politicians e.g Frank Field, but not enough of them about in my opinion.

Too many politicans want to be clapped and applauded for saying the same as the next popular politician.

If that makes sense?
